Description

After converting a bakery van into their mobile hi-tech headquarters, Lisette and Cluaracan explore Paris by calling upon old acquaintances to help them find work for their new agency, But during a professional ‘audition’, Lisette and Cluracan are double-crossed, managing to escape with a priceless research asset that makes them a target of a powerful international conglomerate, VeyTech Pharmaceutical. As they try to decode the mystery in their possession, they have to stay alive as they are ruthlessly hunted by an assassin with a metal arm while figuring out who they can really trust to help them escape France.
The Leviathan Chronicles is a full cast audio drama about a race of immortals that have been secretly living in a hidden city called Leviathan, deep under the Pacific Ocean. For centuries, the utopian society has existed in peace, gently influencing world events on the surface. But soon, a civil war erupts between the immortals that wish to stay hidden, and those that want to integrate fully with the rest of mankind on the surface. A clandestine division of the CIA known as Blackdoor discovers the immortals’ existence and seeks to eliminate the perceived threat that they represent to U.S. sovereignty. Soon, a three-way war erupts across the globe as each faction fights for supremacy, leaving the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

Awesome
The whole story and acting was gripping from the start. I’ve listened to a lot of dramatised podcasts and this is definitely in my top 3. It’s a shame it was unfinished and I understood why, I would undoubtedly do the same. Having said that, what was achieved with this drama was spot on, brilliant stuff and I still recommend people listen to it, it’s well worth your time.
Edit: Having said that and now having finished it, there was some unnecessary padding with the dialogue, ie when there’s a MAJOR emergency with a very short amount of time to try and do something and one of the characters is worried more about what’s in his pants and getting that dealt with BEFORE they need to leave and then just get drunk! It got a bit annoying and I found myself hitting the fast forward button. There were a few instances like that, not enough to drop a star off but it was a bit of a shame as it wasn’t needed.

Pretty good, but not great. Has potential.
A decent listen but could/should be so much better with improved dialogue between some of the characters, which is a shame as there is real talent in a lot of the voice actors. The main character (Macallen) is so irritating and arrogant I find myself rooting for her to fail... More a fault of the writing than the actor.
The historical accuracy of the origin story is so far off the charts it’s almost Braveheart like!
With a bit of tweaking in the editing department, and a little less pretentiousness in some of the writing, this would be a definite 5 star show.

Very entertaining but…
Great concept, acting and story. Find it very entertaining and will keep listening. But the historic research in season 1 episode 8 needed a LOT of work, maybe speaking to a medieval historian… many of the terms, concepts, structures, philosophies etc didn’t exist for hundreds of years e.g. Britain…

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the laughably bad historical research - or lack thereof - in episode 8.

Exceedingly exciting
This podcast is one of the best I have ever heard, it eliminates boredom and every episode leaves you craving more. Hand on my heart, this is a great thing to listen to on long journeys and it fills up and empty houses in your day. I strongly recommend this 😁

BEST PODCAST EVER
I’m a big sci-fi hero story fan, listened to many marvel podcasts and other podcasts with intense story lines , but this one has got to be my favourite by far , I’m lucky I listen to podcasts while at work doing my job and man I have to take breaks just get over how good an episode is as it just makes you want to watch the next one. I hope there are more seasons to come . A show like this on Netflix would be amazing

I’m so glad I was introduced to the leviathan chronicles I just finished the gift part 2 in season one and I’m so glad that I have 3 seasons to go through. I am completely hooked. The story leaves you curious as to what is coming next. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Fun but tries too hard
I downloaded this as I was looking for a story based podcast when I finished the brilliant Lesser Gods. It’s ok. A rollicking story that throws in every adventure theme you can think of. It’s entertaining but could do with editing. Hint. Less is more. There are a few irritations. The attempt at 11th century history in the origin story is terrible! As a Brit I cringed it’s so far beyond inaccurate. Eg brutish navy didn’t exist until 1546. The accents particularly the terrible Irish accent for Oberlin is dreadful. But if you suspend belief it’s fun.

Absolutely Brilliant!
Stubbled across this whilst trying to find a new podcast drama. This is one of the best podcasts ever. Just finished series 1 and I am totally hooked. It’s unbelievably submersive when listening, I can actually vision what’s happening my head when I’m listening like it’s a binge worthy Netflix Hollywood blockbuster. If you love, drama, sci-fi, bonds, fifth element, blade runner, 24 type films listen!!

Interesting concept
Late to the party but I have enjoyed season 1. Narrative is interesting and the episode lengths are good. Recap is useful at the start of each new instalment. Main criticisms are the accents and the historical scenes. Possibly the worst Irish accent I have ever heard! The narrative would have also benefited from a bit more research about the time period it was focusing on in the historical sections.

Truly bad writing
The story fails to live up to the intrigue and potential of the first few episodes. This show is desperately in need of an editor, the dialogue contains way too much clunky exposition, character conversations are unnatural and cringe-y, the writing is unnecessarily descriptive, and the constant repetition of luxury brands...just why? Not sure what the reviews here are about, but check Good Reads for actual critical analysis.

Good start but!!!
Started out really well, great adventure story but the decline into multiple little love stories and an elongated ridiculous bedroom scene with Harlequin and Angeline is starting to make a once very good podcast a bore. I’ll stick with it for a couple more episodes but it’s reaching its limit of ridiculous radio love scenes for the sake of ridiculous radio love scènes

Just awesome!
I downloaded a few episodes due to a long drive to work and back, 6hrs in total (2 days ago).
I’m totally hooked, it’s like a book I can’t put down or a tv series to mammoth watch.... I’m at episode 25 at the minute (the end of series 1).
I’m so glad I found this, it’s awesome.
I don’t want to sleep hahaha.... what happens next?!!!!

Bland, obvious and clichéd.
I’ve taken “over 3 minutes” to write this. But first I’ll have to “hack the mainframe” and “polarise” the signal.
The story is bland, obvious and so so often clichéd. The best stories use clever research and don’t adhere to things like they woke up and it was a dream or aliens landed.
And Chicken Tikka in Indian... come on! That’s a western dish.

High quality production should give it a listen!
Pretty good! Quality of production is there. The length of each episode is pretty good for siting in office and listening to something interesting. The story is pretty interesting.
The only criticism I have towards the writer is that sometimes the characters have to explain a lot of the backstory to other characters in dialogue or explain a wider picture situation which sometimes isn’t needed....which is fine, just a bit unnatural and sort of spoils the flow of the story in places.
Good listen though! Worth a shot!

Mixed bag
This podcast is such a bizarre mix of ups and downs.
The overall story is compelling enough to make me want to keep listening and the audio design is very good. There is clearly a problem with the science and historical aspects of the podcast but take it with a pinch of salt, it’s a sci fi fantasy podcast and it’s fun.
The female characters are particularly poorly written especially at the beginning although this does improve.
My biggest complaint though is “Fish Egg Freddy”, bit bloody racist to do audio yellow face. That accent was such a poor decision and the team should be ashamed of themselves.
All in all excited for the story to get finished and hopefully some of the issues will be addressed.

I can across this after listenening to Bronzeville- great audio story- and have not been disappointed- it's keeps you engrossed and wanting more after each episode- action/ thrills/ immortals/ weapons/ aliens/ if you like these- you'll love this!

One of the most thrilling, adventurous stories out there. It has a brilliant cocktail of mystery, si-fi and writing that will get you far more addicted than to this than any other podcast. This gave me something great to listen to on the way to school, work and before bed xD Trully excited for the next chapters, hopefully that would be soon <3

The historical flashback is so annoyingly innacurate in literally every aspect, but especially as all dialogue seems to have a ye olde world affectation yet still includes glaring modern colloquialisms like "Okay".
Also why is someone who was brought up from a young age in England, and been with an English family, for over 150years still have a Russian accent?! Unbelievable.
I tried to suspend belief and get on with this podcast, but there are too many plot holes and no continuity. And also the author 'soapbox' at the end is just too annoying.

Absolutely amazing storyline and voice acting and with the most immersive soundscapes I've heard from a podcast. The production value is top notch - TLC is truly a masterpiece that everyone should experience at least once 👌🏽
