Gameburst used to be the gold standard for news and topics however, I’m afraid to say that there now appears to be a general negative attitude from the majority of the team members. I find it very hard to listen now and often turn off when some of the presenters dismiss news items for no valid reason. Also, I’m the last person to give advice on sound quality and what to do on a podcast, but the sound of someone lighting a cigarette or smacking their lips too close to the mic is very distracting. On the plus side Gary is always excellent and offers a more balanced and measured approach. I just wish the other team members followed his lead.

I’ve been listening to these guys for a while; not a great fan of the unplugged but then I’m not a really big board gamer. However the episode Roundtable DL is absolutely on message if you’re a gamer this is a must listen if you don’t agree with it then this podcast is not for you. This is a true gamers podcast, keep up the good work guys love it.

There's way better out there

used to be a good honest show that made sense. Now the opinion are getting a little pompus and very insipid. The E3 bashing just finished this show for me. News show is thin of news ands lots of opinion, board games?

sorry have borrowed form too many other shows and is now loosing it's way.

less bashing and more incite would be nice.

A very welcome brief podcast with excellent alternation between gaming news, opinion, and discussion on the latest games and from the recent past. Just wish that unplugged was seperate as I have little interest in boardgames. My previous review moaned a little about Neil's presenting style but he's improved no end, and now one of the best! Well done guys and keep up the excellent work. 5 stars if it wasn't for the boardgames.

I'd take twice weekly episodes of two hours or more from the talented GameBurst crew, but they endeavour to leave their audience wanting more... and to great effect.

I've been enjoying the gameburst show for almost 6 months now and the news shows are absolutely perfect for catching up on what's happening in the game industry with the major points of the week always disected and somehow crammed into short (and to the point) episodes. The quiz, replay and roundtable shows also entertain with recent episodes becoming essential listening. Keep up the good work, I'll be listening!

A new and refreshing format for the videogames podcast. The crew at Gameburst consistently produce one of the finest UK podcasts around.

This is such a quality show, hosts and guests are all well informed and bring their own viewpoint to the mix. I enjoy all the different show types released, News, Roundtable (debate) and Replay.

I find with the quality of people running the show, this is without the doubt the best podcast around. Great to listen to people that have done their homework, really know the subject in hand and are not scared to say what they feel.

I've been listening to Gameburst for over 12 months now, and it is a firm favourite of mine. The hosts are fantastic, and the shows are always livened up with the friendly banter between them. I only have an Xbox 360, but the news and reviews from across other platforms is presented in a way that I enjoy listening to it all.

Crack open a bottle of real ale (it'll make Dippy and Xan happy) and settle down for 30 mins of information and entertainment with each podcast.

...someone who doesn't read gaming news online, I find Gameburst ideal to serve as my main source. The hosts' knowledge of the industry and technical know-how is clearly of a high standard and I like the punchy, short delivery of each show, though unfortunately one or two hosts suffer from having fairly obnoxious personalities. I can take or leave the Replay shows, and I do enjoy the quiz shows to some degree, but this mish-mash of content causes the quality of the episodes to leap all over the place. Having that said, the news episodes are essential listening.

This podcast is now good

This is about the only podcast i listen too and is short enough not to waste my time. James (the old host of wiids), xan, dips and neil provide information comodie and gaff twice a week and all of it is excelent quality so download now!

Until Gary joined.. That man is a born and bred contrarian. There's all of us real gamers enjoying the medium while your show is hosted by this curmudgeonly old man who just hates and hates and hates everything about us. Openly calling us stupid and sheep because we play something made by activision, it's just disgusting. Your show used to be bright, optimistic and fun but now it's just an old man droning on about real ales and how everything was better in the past. And it's not just Gary either, the rest of you too, you spend far too much time ripping on everything popular like call of duty just because it's in fashion, you clearly don't even play those kind of games so what gives you the right to publish commentary on it? Sick of this show now, unsubscribing guys sorry.

great show good info on stuff that is happing well presented and clear just wished it was longer well done lads keep it up.

Frankly great show, and a great source of news every Sunday, including the odd bit seemingly missed by other outlets.

Plus another show every Thursday, be it on one certain game from the past, a certain current topic or a quiz that'll have you shouting answers at your iPod. And all in under 40 minutes, allowing for quick and easy listening.

Add the fact that it's part of the UG(B)N, what more could you want?

This podcast is like a breath of fresh air after all the 2 hour podcasts that are out there.

The show is great and info is very accurate and covers gaming news in around 30 minutes.

As it's twice a week the other show on Thursday goes into more depth on a single topic. They also do a feature on older games and do a monthly quiz so there's always something to look forward too.

One of the best (if not the best) british podcasts out there. I look forward to this show every Thursday and Sunday.

Great show that tells you all you need to know about news and what is happening in games. The Roundtables talks are very educational and informative. Less pompous than Edge and a lot better than most other gaming magazines. One of the few British game podcasts we can be proud of. Keep up the cool work.

Quite simply brilliant. The mixture of news, roundtable and quiz episodes is spot on. The news is always great fun to listen to, yeah you can read a lot of it on various websites but the guys points of view and discussion of the news is always good fun and well presented, making it my primary source of gaming news these days.

Roundtables are always on an interesting and important gaming topic. Always has excellent guest presenters and a fun light hearted tone (apart from the medal of honour one, which was brilliant so listen to it).

The quiz episodes are excellent, with the same great mix of guests that we get from the roundtables.

So dont just sit and read this review, get listening.

Excellent show. Presenters who know their stuff and have a chemistry between them talking about a good mix of old and new games. Only wish would be for it to be 60 or 90 minutes because 30 simply flies by. Well done chaps!

Lewis mate please start your own Pod-cast and ditch these two.

This is one of the very few U.K. game podcast which are up there with the U.S. ones like the Bombcast and the various ex 1UP offshoots.

I also like the format of having a few half hour podcasts a week as opposed to the 2 to 3 hour "epics" that you get from the other sites which can feel like a slog to get through sometimes.

Highly Recommended!

Great format to the show, lasting around 30mins per episode (at first i thought this was abit short turns out to be the perfect length as I never finished those 2 and a half hour episodes other podcast produce)

with a seperate episode for NEWS, DISCUSSION and even a QI style monthly quiz

Stumbled upon this a while ago and it's amazing how much is crammed into 30mins with some really good views and banter throughout. Great layout with interesting round tables, news reviews and light hearted quizzes which bring a nice change to this regular pod cast! Thumbs up all round!!

Having listened to every show since the start, I highly recommend people to add this to their podcast or RSS feeds and subscribe as its highly enjoyable, informative and straight to the point and all done within 30 minutes (or so) and with a monthly quiz added to the mix its a great way to get your gaming brain in motion and see how knowledgable you are while you listen.

This is my favourite gaming podcast. Always has the latest news, and the hosts have a good sense of humour; This is what discussions on gaming should be!

Particularly like the Round Table episodes: especially the Western Vs. Japanese RPG episode.
