I downloaded this podcast on a whim and, I must say, what a glorious accident it was.

Marcus du Sautoy is obviously incredibly engaged with his topics that, week on week, continue to become evermore entertaining and fascinating. His snippet views of huge mathematical conundrums are as captivating as they are informative. Each detailed enough to satisfy those who seek more than a 'wiki' knowledge, yet not convoluted so as to become boring or elongated.

Throughout the podcast, du Sautoy continues to enthuse his audience with increasingly interesting chunks of information which provide not a complete, but solid understanding of some of the most important and revolutionary mathematical ideas.

I know absolutely

Nothing about Mathematics. This area of knowledge was an elusive subject totally inaccessible to school leavers like myself in the late sixties and early seventies. I went onto university with the necessary maths O level. I studied the history of ideas political and social and some philosophy. Thank goodness this professor has popularised his subject. His TV series was totally engaging. I cannot admit to understanding much but it has been enlightening to have these pieces of knowledge slotted into the overall picture. A marvelous series. Thank you.

Great series - it's a shame that the vast majority of school kids will not listen to Radio4 and hear a program that can inspire them to do the math! More thanks.
