Feels like a special occasion

Knifepoint stories don’t come out as often as other horror fiction podcasts but the difference is the depth and gravitas within so many of them. For me it’s the difference between finding a true work of imagination after months of looking versus watching whatever is formulaic and churned out as part of a studio calendar. Neither is wrong and you can enjoy both but Knifepoint is more like seeing The Thing for the first time than Saw 6.

Excellent

Have been listening to this podcast for a couple of years and the quality of the stories is phenomenal. Always looking forward to his next one and the way they are narrated is sublime.

Perfect Podcast

The voices soothe ... and scare. The pace is ... just ... enough to lull you into a sense of suspense. If you can sleep ... it would be ... well you’ll miss ... a lot

Hands down the best podcast ever

This is my favourite podcast. When a new episode drops it’s cause for celebration. Soren Narnia is just an amazing writer and the tone of the narration is intriguing and hypnotic. I have listened to every episode multiple times and could do so over and over again and still enjoy them. “Compound” and “Moonkeeper” being favourites of mine. Give it a go and wear headphones.

If you are going to listen to just one horror podcast...

...listen to this one. I have listened to each story countless times and they never cease to amaze me. The combination of great writing and a conversational but never less than interesting narration is so beguiling that each listen seems as fresh as the first time. Although I would love Mr. Narnia to increase his output, the quality is that high I will forgive him that. Can’t recommend highly enough 😊

Creepy

I love listening to these stories. The narrator has the perfect voice which I could listen to all day. I must admit, I cannot listen to these stories late at night they are genuinely creepy without being sensational. Highly recommended.

Almost Stephen King League

Ok bold statement to make and IMO of course - but I really don’t say that lightly.
Some of these stories really, genuinely, give me the creeps (I don’t scare easily and I’m a massive horror fan). Really original stuff.
The writer has a great imagination, and yet you can tell that personal experiences have helped shape these stories too - all adding to the sense that they are (almost!) believable.
The narrator is absolutely amazing. There’s just something so ominous about his voice. His story telling comes very naturally and he’s able to build this sense of dread as the tale goes along. Got me hooked. I really like the format too; the way he introduces himself as a new character each time. That’s engaging and clever.
Love it - please keep writing and creating. I think you really have something special!

Keep writing!

Please keep writing! You’re so talented!
I never thought I’d feel fear at the idea of an ostrich in a nursing home.

Am I missing something?

Sorry, but I just don’t get it? I was suckered in by all the positive reviews but have been very disappointed with what I’ve heard. These episodes are neither chilling or interesting. A simple story with a beginning, a middle and and end, and the stories are not that good either. Yes, this is just my opinion but if you are looking for something fictional that is on par with top notch true crime podcasts like Casefile, Murder Mile or Crime Junkie, this collection couldn’t be further from the mark.

Fantastically written, a truly unique horror podcast

Far from what is common in many other horror podcasts, this one strays far from tired clichés. A narrative style that is unique, and feels strangely realistic.
Never does it feel like the author is actively trying to scare you, and yet sometimes the mystery and intrigue slowly grows into something truly horrifying.
This is the podcast equivalent of "good horror", without the jump scares, but with a creeping terror that stays with you for a long time after finishing an episode.
Perhaps the greatest terror of all is how rapidly I'm speeding through the available episodes!

Utterly chilling

The best horror podcast there is, slow creeping and beautifully written. The scenes that the author conjures up are utterly cinematic and striking, and I would recommend almost anyone listen to this.

Polar King

Best horror podcast out there! Creepy, well read and original. Listen to this round a campfire etc and I guarantee you’ll feel terrified and cosy all at once purely for the fact it’s not you in the story. LOVE IT. Please make many many more. I’d pay £10 a month for these

Need more episodes!!!

This is absolutely brilliant. Great writing, and the narrator (on the last dozen or so episodes) has a perfect, deadpan style that strangely makes the stories really come alive. Haunting. But I need more episodes than one every six weeks!

One of the creepiest

You never know when it will turn up, you never know what horrors it will bring, but you do know it will leave you wondering if that movement out of the corner of your eye was just you imagination....and was that guy on the bus really staring at you the whole way.....and what is that buzzing, itching in my ear..... Amazing creepy narration, great and varied stories. I hope the 'retirement from horror' is more of a mini break.

Inspired and haunting

I stumbled across this podcast entirely by accident while searching for something else. I took a chance on it, and I’m glad I did. These stories are always fascinating, partly through the author’s perceptive style and partly through the calm and composed manner of their delivery. Nothing is extraneous, and not a word is wasted. There’s none of the usual podcast fluff - no out-of-character introductions, no goofy theme tunes, no pleas to ‘like and subscribe!!!’. I’ve listened to every one of these episodes released so far and I still barely have any idea who the author is or what inspired him to start recording these - and I kind of hope it stays that way. Because this is brilliant.

Truly knifepoint

Soren acomplishes what he sets out to do, these tales build tension like no other and are true to their Knifepoint name. The first person narration has you questioning what you would do in these situations and creates a need to know what happened next. Even though I have been listening to these in quick succession I still find the stories staying with me over a period of time.
One of the selling points is the startling originality of near every story and the variety. From derranged murderers, furious spirits, satanic cults and the just outright bizarre. These would make one hell'uva TV series!

10/10 would listen again

Chilling style and atmosphere with the effects and great narration; really creates a visual image for the listener. Found this podcast a few months back and listened straight until I completed all episodes, and now I'm quite sad as the episodes seem to randomly come out, I would love more episodes all the time, even classic tales or just creepy stuff in general with the 'knife point' style to it. 10/10, nothing to improve other than releasing more original material. :)

Spine chilling!

Truly excellent campfire style stories, that'll make you leave the lights on at night and check under the bed for the boogeyman before going to sleep...

Marvellous reading, both frightening and hauntingly unsettling , in the best tradition of Robert Aickman . I'm delighted and grateful to all involved

The first person perspective and unusually brilliant angles on some old stories makes these the best short horror stories out there.

Chilling!

Some truly scary stories, made more chilling because of the "first person" style they have been written and read.
