The radio drama published through this podcast is a good range of the BBC’s output but it’s so frustrating that very few of the finalists on the BBC audio drama awards shortlist for 2019 have ever been released through the drama of the week podcast.

I enjoyed having an accessible radio ap and you’ve gone and ruined it! The new site is difficult to navigate and apart from the archers all my favourites have gone missing. I liked looking through the programs for the day and adding the ones I wanted to listen to to my list. You’ve removed that option. If you haven’t removed it you’ve made it impossible for me to find. STOP MESSING AROUND WITH THINGS THAT WORK JUST FOR THE SAKE OF IT.

Worst app ever and deserves minus stars. Have you never heard the saying If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? iPlayer Radio was anything but broken, but oh no, you had to get rid of it and upset millions of listeners.

For goodness sake get a grip and do something to simplify this platform. Radio 4 iPlayer wasn’t broken and why on earth replace it with a substandard mess. BBC should be ashamed to put Sounds in the public domain. I have had to rate this post to publish but it doesn’t deserve even on star.

I’ve been listening avidly to this podcast since 2010 and would rarely skip a weekly offering. However the stories over the past year has deteriorated enough that I will probably unsub shortly. What changed?

It really isn’t easy trying to work out how to download a play/ drama that is of ant sensible length or indeed a series - I am deeply confused between podcasts Bbc sounds and i radio.

so much worse

This podcast has got so much worse in the last year or two. Now only gives first episide of a series - what's the point in that? And so few items here, when there was one a week (as in broadcast). Please don't keep pushing Sounds on us - let us get the plays here.

Not so now

Since BBC Sounds came out the variety and frequency has dropped as being pushed However apple car play does not work with Sounds so I remain disappointed and frustrated. Plus we get lots of first episodes and less stand alone plays now!

Why the changes?

I love the variety of plays the BBC dies but this app clearly isn’t the way to get them. We are being pushed to Sounds so there are fewer plays being put here, when they used to be weekly, and often as others have said it’s the first of a series and then I have to go looking for the rest. I am used to going to my podcast app and simply don’t want to go looking elsewhere. Please, please, could this go back to how it was.

Really love this & can listen to them all again & again with equal pleasure. The two main characters are both funny & poignant, brought to life by Bill Nighe & Anna Calder-Marshall. Wonderful. More please!

Some dramas are sad some are funny but they are all brilliant, even the ones I do not understand have high drama. BBC shows what it can do best with every production

The dramas and plays are great but the app itself could be so much better. The app only has a small number of radio 4 dramas for some reason, whereas if you go on the website you get the full catalogue played over the course of the week. I don’t know why they select just a few for the app.

The last few weeks podcasts have been dire, some earlier ones were very good, to invest listening time to this on a regular basis it really needs to have a consistency. If I had only heard the last two then it would already be deleted. Come on BBC you have £5 billion in fees try harder.

Quality is a word that is often misrepresented. You are different to me but just occasionally a drama has me spell bound. So much so that I have to pull over and listen intently. This was the one! The inhumanities of the Deep South of the USA are well represented on screen, but this took me into a realm that was disturbing and frightening; how only a drama can.

Love it!

Just listened to another truly awful 'drama of the week'
This time it was 'Polyunamous'
Back in February I listened to 'This was then'
If you are going to released a play under the title 'Play of the Week', then please make it a good one

Why can I only see one episode of this?! I really want to listen to the others! I’m really enjoying radio 4 dramas but find their podcast layout really erratic. It needs to be set out in chronological order so I can listen to the next one easily!

I really enjoy this podcast and have subscribed for a long time. They often chose plays or stories I might not have picked up on. My only issue with the podcast is often there is very little information about the plays so I end up having to go online to find out more, or using the radio app to get a description.

Really well-written dramas

This is great. I've been listening for a while and almost all are really engaging. There's a variety of thrillers and other stuff to cater for various tastes. Some are a bit too harrowing for my taste but other than that I'm a big fan. More people need to hear about this; there doesn't seem to be much (any?) social media marketing, which is a shame.

Please! Why podcast half a play it is so frustrating and a waste of time, I listen when I can't sleep so when I realise I don't have part 2 it drives me crazy. If you can't put out the whole play forget it. Otherwise fantastic service.

Can't fault the quality of the production or the content, but the podcast only has a single episode at a time.
Neverwhere, for example, was broadcast one episode per day for a week- but this podcast only had the first episode. What is the point of that ? - it flies in the face of what podcasting is all about.
Avoid.

I have been a regular listener to the plays on a Friday as many times I used to find myself driving home from some far flung place & it was always something to look forward too on a long journey. Now retired & able to download each play I keep it & listen whenever.
Hope Radio 4 will always keep the plays coming each week, thanks for years of pleasure the Play of the Week has given.

My 2 star rating is generous given that, for me 9 out of 10 of the plays are bizarre or bleak or both. I stay subscribed because every couple of months, there is one to which is worth listening.

Could we have a back catalogue please?
