Awesome podcast

Just discovered it my girlfriend does a podcast called I secretly recorded my boyfriend, shhhhhh
I’ve modelled the challenger 2 tank with real Iraq earth again modelling bits you’ll never see, I’m currently listening sitting outside in glorious sunshine modelling Aldridge Railway station currently painting the platform, I’m a bit of a rivet counter however modelling the exact brick colours to pictures does not work painting individual oo gauge bricks when scaled down looks terrible there’s an interesting topic paint scaled down can look wrong even though you have the exact colour match, absolute brilliant podcast, my most upsetting moment when the ex decided to see if the Westland Wessex could actually fly it took months to build, horrible memory, keep safe and thanks for taking the time out to bring me this joy
Happy modelling 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Tremendously Fun!

Every wonder what the best Sandwich filling is? What childhood game stands out from the rest? Where did the video stores really go? Or what exactly was that song lyric I just hear? Listen to the marvellous Elton with an eclectic range of co-hosts and guests debate and challenge your preconceived notions and maybe learn something new along the way while laughing your socks off…also listen live and take part in the group chat on Mixlr! A great show with a great host and a great community.

The Broad Games Cast

The Mixlr live recording session was great. The chat room had a game of Cluedo/Clue during half-time! My thanks to whoever start that one: Genius Move. Brillant running which the torch lit by Elton (and Lee)! I love the Board Games episode it was great, nostalgic and let me know about games I hadn't been introduced to yet. I been scouring the charity shops for games like Rummikub and so on. And due to this cast my husband and I dusted off Talisman and Tri-ominos after not looking at them for years. Growing old is just a state of mind!!! My shoe-size is 6: I think I like that number better (just don't mention school or bedtime)!

All hail Mr Spoon!

Elton McManus and company provide a delightful alternative to the voices in my head.

Great cast, would listen again 5*

I love the eclectic range of topics covered and being able to participate on the mixer is oh so much fun, could also be renamed ‘Educating Elton’ but his earnestness is a share delight to listen too, give it a go, you won’t be disappointed

its great, mate

Splendid chat about a multitude of subjects. Funny, casual, and dare I say occasionally informative.

It's flipping ace

They talk about stuff, random topics from episode to episode, Dinosaurs, Pencil Cases, Roller coasters etc... What more do you want from a podcast, it's good, it's funny.

Shonky Lab Forever

The Shonky lab is an informative, thought provoking and downright funniest podcast I've ever heard. Ever since I discovered it just over a year ago, I've enjoyed listening and feeding back to the cast on a regular basis.
My train journeys feel empty without Pete and Elton and where-as I listen to a lot of casts, the Shonky Lab was the one that introduced me to the mad world of podcasting. Can't recommend this enough, the best free podcast in the world, probably.

Random fun

This podcast covers such varied subjects as biscuits, DIY disasters, the x-files and time travel. Whatever the subject you're in for a laugh as these guys can make anything amusing, and things that were already funny pant-wettingly hilarious.

Shonkingly Good

Enjoying this podcast, came across it after listening to the Primer episode that was tacked onto the end of some other shonky podcast.
It's a bit like having a conversation with two old friends, but hiding in a cupboard and not saying anything. Seriously though is a good listen (taking a while to catch up from the start)
Keep up the good work Elton and Pete

Shonky stuff.

If you want to listen to a lift engineer and another bloke who doesn't seem to do any work talk about all kinds of random things, and have the odd laugh thrown in, then have a listen! Seriously though, Shonky Lab is a great podcast, Pete and Elton are brilliant hosts and the show always raises a laugh. Good stuff, albeit a bit Shonky :)

You gotta love 'em...unless you hate Essex boys. Then you don't

It's a little bit Shonky. But that kinda makes it shonkily good...

Excellent geeky talk

I put my Millennium Falcon in the dish washer because of these idiots, thanks for that.
I've also watched Primer eight times and now have no idea when to put the bins out. Baby Jesus loves you.

Not all that shines is Shonky

This show rocketed to the top of my listen list.
A great mix of subjects and fantastic chemistry between its hosts, I never fail to laugh out loud when listening.
If you are 30 something the nostalgia trips are brilliant, you end up shouting 'I used to have one of those!' etc
Great show, can't recommend highly enough.

Shonky by name, not by nature

Pete and Elton are great hosts. The subject matter is varied and interesting. I often get odd looks because these guys make me laugh so much. They brighten my dull life and get me to work with a smile on my face.
So if your having a crappy day, listen to the Shonky Lab technicians and get smiling.

Shonky? Not half!

Since listening to the Shonky Lab my knowledge of life has increased four fold.
I can now travel on the bus without fear of being the dumbest person there.

Do you love your ears? Well do you?

If the answer is yes then show them both how much you care and listen to the "Shonky Lab". Always interesting and funny, the show's title is certainly no reflection on the entertainmenting chat from hosts Pete and Elton. So come on, people, you know it makes sense!

A lab of mystery and wonder...

Lets start this review off by saying that the title totally mis-sells the show because it is anything but shonky.
The eclectic mix of topics from Watchmen to Biscuits keeps the show fresh and the enjoyable banter between the two hosts, Pete and Elton is a delight to listen to.
The show has a strong amiable feel to it and I defy anyone not to enjoy these two friends pondering and meandering over such a wide range of subjects, often with hilarious trains of thought.
If you like podcasts which are as much about the hosts and their banter, as it is about the subject at hand, I cannot recommend Shonky Lab enough. Every episode is great fun to listen to and an essential subscription in my opinion.

Better than being weed on by a labrador

Listening to the cheeky chaps in the Shonky Lab is more fun than tweaking an elephant's nipple while eating sushi off Joan Collins' tummy. (Young Joan Collins, not the older one - that'd be weird)
