Just listened to the Second Captains with Gary Neville.....one of THE best interviews I have ever heard. Honest, open, great banter and whisper it quietly from an Arsenal fan, I really do like Neville. Thank you Arseblog for getting me in to the two captains, a lot to live up to now following my first ( and not last) listen. Brilliant.

I have been listening to this ever since Miguel Delaney provided a link to it on Twitter a year ago.

I have to say the cohesive team they are how they bounce off each other and create a jovial atmosphere is the most authentic display of entertainment between three individuals.

Its funny, entertaining, gripping, illuminating and thought provoking allowing us to hear of stories and featured snippets you simply will not get covered anywhere else.

Ken is royalty an absolute legend in his own right but all the lads are great, please sign up for the World service, I do not suscribe to any other monetized podcasts apart from this but the $6 are completley worth it. Daily Podcasts over an hour, oh and they talk about Football!

Only recently discovered the podcast but I'm glad I did. 4 shows a week of the highest quality.

Quite possibly the best round up of sport around. Good content, well put together and the accents are a gem to listen to. Not a huge fan of rugby but these guys make it a worthwhile podcast. Keep 'em coming!

I listen to a lot of football podcast but don't stick with that many. Indeed, Second Captains and the Guardian Football Weekly are my only regular subscriptions. I am English and discovered Ken Early, having heard him on the Arseblog podcast, and concluded he was interesting, informed, engaging and opinionated. I've not missed a Second Captains football podcast for over a year now. The team are brilliant. The mash up jingles are inspired. The chemisty is superb - and I stand by my initial assessment of Ken Early who is still the star of the show. Superb stuff. Bravo lads. Keep up the great work.

As an Irishman living in the UK, the Second Captain lads allow me a chance to stay in touch with the GAA throughout the summer and provide a very entertaining dynamic.

Mix in some high quality discussion topics that some sporting podcasts might shy away from and you have the best sporting show out there.

Top quality podcast! I try to make my way through a lot of different podcasts each week and Second Captains is top of the list each time. Great mix of interviews, chat and up to date news. Keep up the great work boyos.

Probably the best football podcast out there in my opinion. Great insight and knowledge, plus the chemistry between the hosts is excellent.

Really great podcast. Mix ofn witty observations about the world of sport and incitful comments by the lads orone of their many esteemed regular guests. Well worth a listen.

Unlike most other football podcast, Captains delivers witty cynicism yet we never get the feeling that any of the lads hate football- far from it. An example of this is Robbie Keane. He is held in complete adoration (implicitly) yet fun is often poked at him.

...and then there's the jingles.

This is the premier podcast for sport in Ireland. It is both knowledgable and entertaining with a great chemistry between all involved. Do yourself a favour and download it!

Mondays and Thursdays have quickly become my favourite days of the week since beginning to listen to Ken's dulcet tones. That may be reflective of the high quality of this podcast or the low quality of my life.

A witty, well researched and informative weekly sports update with three(sometimes more, howiye Richie, Simon) sound lads, even if Ken's contrary attitudes smack more than a little of devil's advocate.

Some excellent guest colour too, with U.S. Murph and Donald McRae especially good.

Unmissable. Best sports/football podcast out there. And 4 times a week!

To put it simply, a superb podcast.

There is a good rapport between the presenters, which is essential, but it doesn't descend into in-joke banter, and is all the better for it. Ken's football analysis is the (very good) bread and butter, but the others are prepared to challenge him, which can make for good discussion. Additionally, there are intelligent and fairly important (in sports journalism) guests who are allowed to speak in good depth, but what really sets this podcast apart is that Ken is not just deferential, but will be prepared to debate with them.

I listen to every football podcast and only some of the sport ones, but it was similar for the RWC in 2015, with the inclusion of Matt Williams. The sense of humour is bang on for me too.

Episodes without Ken are noticeably weaker, but Brian Clough needed Peter Taylor to work his magic and it's certainly not a one man show.

It's like Football Weekly, but smarter! Barry Glendenning mentioned it last year, and I tracked it down. Very glad that I did. Particularly like the audio / music mixes ("You bottle-less get, Campbell"), and recent remeniscences about trips to Hull and the beautiful East Riding of Yorkshire. Also primes my English mind with insights to share with the in-laws in Kerry twice a year. Makes me feel in touch with the culture and that.

Really enjoyable show guys

I find I cannot get to sleep unless I'm listening to the dulcet musings of Eoin, Ken and Murph. This presents a dilemma in that there are only 4 issues per week and I am forced to listen to lesser podcasts which displeases me, but we must all make sacrifices in life. This in turn leads me to evaluate the way I construct my relationships, how I build bonds and friendships. Suffice to say, I can no longer do this with anyone who is ignorant to the second captains podcast.

What an unbelievable podcast. Top quality every single week. Should do more than four shows a week. Chemistry between the lads is quality.

As an exile, but not (yet) PBESO, this podcast has kept me sane for four commutes a week since I discovered it last year. Luckily I drive alone, so no one sees we laugh at hears me snort in derision. Compared to most sports journalism in the UK, this is so far ahead it’s almost not that funny. Seriously, could you listen to the Monday Night Club after these boys?

A brilliant podcast, often very funny, consistently entertaining and wonderfully produced. The three guys have great chemistry but it’s not all ‘bantz’, topics are covered with great insight and often at some depth. The rotating cast of guest journos, writers and broadcasters are always good value too. Highly recommended !

I really love this podcast. The lads have great chemistry. As an Englishman, I know nothing about Gaelic football or hurling, but still really enjoy listening to those sections of the pod. The interviews are fascinating, the football chat is well-informed, and yeah… The whole thing is just really well made and enjoyable.

Being English this was a complete surprise to me. I'd never heard of any of these chaps before but they make really excellent radio feel easy and accomplished.

The ability to flit between lightly poking fun at a manager to a dealing with a genuine global issue is a sign of genuine talent.

Some superb guests (and a few odd ones) make it the best football podcast I've come across. I've still no idea what GAA is all about though...
