Great balance between "episodes long enough to get your teeth into" and "short one-off stories so you don't have to listen to EVERYTHING". The only downside is I don't have enough time in my life to play all the games they show off!

I used to love one shot, it was funny and diverse but these days each episode is made up of a series of plugs for their guests and adverts for their other shows/products. I know podcasters need to get income from somewhere but the show is basically them begging for money with a relatively tiny amount of content. It's tedious and I hope they improve things because it used to be such a good show.

Started listening to this podcast lately and have really enjoyed it. They clearly have a lot of fun playing and planning their games and there is plenty of laughs to be had!

I found One Shot when my love of Star Wars led me to Campaign, their sister podcast for want of a better phrase. Campaign is brilliant, moving, incredibly funny and I thoroughly enjoy each instalment. In One Shot James and a multitude of others have boiled down the irrelevant anarchic fun of roleplaying and character building from Campaign into just one or two sessions and it has also introduced me to a host of new games. If you love role playing I can't recommend the work these people do highly enough. Cheers James, Kat and all those who give their time for our enjoyment, it's much appreciated.

This is a really fun podcast that showcases a wide variety of RPG systems, with a series of 'One Shot' adventures. James D'Amato does a great job GMing and hosting, bringing together some really fun and entertaining players.

No prior knowledge or experience of tabletop RPGs is required in order to enjoy this podcast. However, if you are looking for new systems to play, this is a fantastic resource.

If you are into gaming, or you want to get into gaming, or just want to listen to a bunch of people having an absolute blast together then this podcast needs to be in your life. It is consistently hilarious, often thought-provoking, and occasionally bitter-sweet. You'll love it.

I first heard about this show from the reddit thread "what are the best rpg podcasts" , so please give a shout out to the redditors involved! The GMing and the stories that the group creates are awesome and engaging and I really enjoy finding out about new rpgs.

Love this podcast - indie tabletop games in the flesh with great performers, contributes and stories. James finds great guests and improvisers and the mix of role playing and improv give the show a great conceit. Always look forward to hearing something weird, clever and funny.

So while searching for recommended one shot campigns for Numenera google instead presented me with this podcast.

I was quickly won over and have embarked on an effort to listen to them all.

The revolving cast has been consistently quick witted and entertaining.

The games are run with a light hearted and comedic bent.

Most important of all everyone involved seems to be having a good time.

Kat and James have made a wonderful thing here. Funny, interesting and practically a public service by showing us all the various systems available. Everyone should play everyone is John. The greatest cast of regulars from the nerdy side of Chicago bring games to life and it's easily my favourite podcast today. Lovely people too! Thanks heroes.

I regularly listen to gaming podcasts, and I’ve been through quite a few, often giving up after a few episodes as I find myself rolling my eyes, zoning out entirely from boredom, unable to hear the audio properly, or whatever. One Shot is one of the best actual play podcasts, for my tastes.

They manage to strike the perfect balance of humour without relying on tedious in-jokes, and they’re not horrendously offensive although they do sometimes touch on controversial issues (generally in a way intended to be respectful and thoughtful but funny - 'punching up’, etc).

The episodic format helps because there is always a sense of heading towards an ending, and settings, characters, etc are always fresh (in fact, I think I prefer the one-off or two-part episodes to the longer runs of episodes they occasionally do for those reasons).

If you’re after relatively light-hearted but not overly goofy RPG actual play, this is the place to start.

Brilliant RPG podcast. Well paced, no dead air. Great GM and guests. Fun stories.

I've been a fan of real play RPG podcasts for a good while, but the problem I generally run into is that either that the party doesn't engage me, or the audio quality is so poor as to get in the way of the experience. One Shot hits both of these issues out of the park. I've only recently discovered it, but I can already say it's one of the best podcasts of its kind I've ever listened to. Incredibly engaging, and clearly made by a gang that take great pride and care in their production values.

Highly enjoyable podcast, no matter who the members of the group is each week they are always very funny, and a gripping listening experience!

Such a fun podcast to listen to. I listen to One Shot whilst I'm walking the dog and I'm always getting funny looks by other dog walkers because I am laughing out loud.

Honestly, I've looked through quite a few podcasts of RPGs and this is just what I was looking for - funny, smart and charismatics players and GMs coming together to play great games. It all makes for great listening and I've had a lot of laughs from then. Everyone always seems to be having a good time and there's plenty of memorable moments, it's exactly the expereince I've known from playing RPGs and it makes for wonderful listening.

One Shot is an excellent show with excellent people on it. James has done a great job of highlighting a wide number of games and getting some wonderful players to showcase them.

A friend told me about this podcast a few moths back so I started to listen and I love it! very funny and a great way to learn about different systems. I used to role play a fair amount and then moved away from my regular group (cue violins) and kinda lost touch with it. This podcast has helped reignite a passion for it and opened my eyes to loads of new games. The missus and the bank balance aren’t so keen but I love it! keep up the excellent work!

One Shot, along with its sister podcast Campaign, stands out whether you're interested in improv, RPGs, fun things, cool people, or any or all of these things! It's consistently funny, interesting, and entertaining. Give it a listen. You won't regret it!

Always good guests, the range of systems they have played is fantastic and even if the system or style is not one you like it is nearly always entertaining to listen along anyway.

I have never played an RPG game yet. But this podcast really introduced my into the world and helped get me enthusiastic about it. Very entertaining!! Listen you won't regret it.
