A great mix of intelligent movie analysis without ever seeming pretentious and always room for a good dose of fun along the way. Great mix of blockbusters and championing smaller, independent, older or foreign language movies.

Been listening to Filmspotting for nearly a decade now (just missed out on the 'Cinecast' incarnation) and it remains a treat.

Adam and Josh have built a great show – and community – around taking a serious (but not too serious) weekly look at cinema that goes beyond a weekly review format to encompass in-depth marathons, top 5 lists and a whole lot more.

I'm a particular fan of the frequent guest appearances by Jeff Goldblum of the Chicago Tribune.

It's good, but I'm way too fond of brevity to recommend it wholeheartedly.

A great structure and fantastic reviews make this the most interesting and engaging film podcast around. Must-listen for anyone into film!

Adam and Josh are remarkably eloquent and llikable hosts who mix seriously insightful film criticism with just the right level of silliness. They're the kind of guys who'll go deep into Agnès Varda one minute and Fast and Furious the next, without a hint of irony. What pervades is an obvious deep love of all things cinema. So if you share that love, join the party.

Simply one of the best film podcasts out there. Superb, intelligent informative discussuion. Adam and Josh feel like good friends.

Now 12 years strong, Filmspotting is,simply put, my absolute favourite podcast. Arthouse Adam is an unsung hero in a world of film appreciation,while his co-host Josh Larsen is as perceptive as he is entertaining. Their banter makes for great listening and neither are afraid to censor their views. Do yourself a favour and subscribe - here's to another 12 years!

Over the years I have always appreciated this show and can not imagine enjoying film with out checking in on Filmspotting regularly to hear some enriching and in depth discussions that always help me to see things in a new light.

Informative and always engaging, it's like grabbing a beer with a few friends - who I don't always agree - to talk film. Highly recommended.

Apart from the fabulous Michael Phillips infrequent visits, the show has slowly taken a dip in the last couple of years. The golden era of Matty Ballgame has never been replicated.

Filmspotting is consistently both interesting and entertaining.

Listening to this podcast has peaked my interest in film criticism and even inspired me to sit down and write some reviews and critical pieces with have sat, half-formed in my head for some time.

This is an intelligent, thoughtful show which explores a diverse range of genres.

Filmspotting remains one of the finest podcasts around - consistently entertaining and illuminating. Adam and Josh have really developed a superb chemistry and as the years have gone on the podcast has improved considerably without ever losing its soul. If you love, or even like the world of film, Filmspotting is a must.

There is a real love for the cinema that pops out of this podcast. Having listened for a long time I drifted away. I'm back and this podcast is better than ever. Intelligent and fun, plenty of personality from the hosts. The format is great, it will introduce you to plenty of new films and film makers. Highly recommended.

Simply the best.

Have been listening to this podcast for almost ten years, in fact it was my introduction to the art podcasting, and I never looked back. Though a few hosts changed over the years, the high standard of discussion has been consistent throughout. These guys know what they're talking about, but they're also very humble about it, and full of curiosity and enthusiasm for the art of cinema. The only slight niggle is that I would love them to branch out to international cinema a bit more. But that's just my personal preference. Otherwise, they're doing a spectacular job. Thank you, guys, for opening my eyes to so much wonderful and life-changing cinema.

This is probably the best of the movie podcasts that I listen to. Insightful, enthusiastic, and in-depth. I particularly like the weekly top-five discussion.

My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that it's sometimes a little long, with a couple of recent episodes clocking in at 2 hours 20 minutes.

Searching for a quality film podcast that goes beyond the ‘it’s good’, ‘it’s bad’ diatribe? You can stop now. This is it. As a listener for 8 years it truly doesn’t get better than Adam & Josh who effortlessly dig deeper than other podcasts, whilst providing a rewarding, comfortable listen. I’ve seen so many films off the back of the show that I would never have seen otherwise. This is essential.

Been listening to Filmsetting for years, it’s the absolute best podcast about movies, and in my top five podcasts period. Thanks guys!

Adam and Josh are just brilliant! They have differing and informed tastes , they challenge each other and discuss films in depth. It's audio film school for your theory credits and more! Massacre Theatre adds a … special… creepy…. hilarious twist to the podcast. Discover film history and unravel current productions, bear witness to the dismantling and hailing of films, bad English accents, friendship and even jealousy. You won't regret it. Highly recommend it! Awesome podcast!

A great podcast to listen to if you have any interest in films. Intelligent discussions that cover the whole spectrum of cinema. I am yet to find anything anywhere near as entertaining and enlightening as Filmspotting.

The first podcast I ever listened to, and the only one I've stuck with the whole way. Has really helped me to think both critically and analytically about film from a new perspective. Went back and listened to all the old shows as well. Great if you're looking for recommended films (both old and new). Fantastic show.

This podcast is great, gives detailed reviews of movies without giving too much away for those who are yet to view. Also includes little gems of information about recent happenings in the industry, which help you stay in the loop.

Literally is the best film podcast out there, been listening for a few years but have been over to the website, filmspotting.net, and listened to almost all of the archive, give me a couple more months to get all the way through nine years worth.

Hosts are both great, clever but unpretentious and both incredibly nice guys.

Every time I finish listening to an episode of Filmspotting I immediately want to sit down and watch some movies. That's what a good film podcast should do. Top marks.

I've been listening to Filmspotting for two years now, and it has become an essential part of my weekly routine. Starting out with only a keen interest in films and very little analytical ability, the podcast has not only lead me to lesser known films but also helped me to appreciate some of the finer points of filmmaking, production, and scriptwriting. If you're looking for intelligent, often hilarious discussion of a wide range of films then this is definitely what you need to be listening to.

The Filmspotting podcast has been a constant companion for the last few years, if you like movies its well worth a listen.

The best film review podcast I've listened to.

I cannot think of enough superlatives to bestow on what is without any question the best movie podcast out there.

I have spent a few years listening to various movie podcast: from Guardian Films to Film Vault, while there are many podcats whose merits are certainly quite warranted none manage the fine balance of challenging and critical assessment quite as well as Filmspotting. There is a certain higher bracket that this podcast enters into that transcends mere reviewing, we have informed debate, and the key word here is 'informed', many podcast go under the guise of informed reviewers but more often than not falls into the mad rant category, Filmspotting is different, there is a love of debate here, there is no egos, what here is, is a wise interplay between host and guest which elevates this podcast to a new stratesphere of brilliance. In short this is the best you will find on the web, challenging, sometimes moving, articulate and bold. A true offering from the internet gods. Highly recommended.

Best movie podcast out there. Missing Matty but still great.

I've only been listening to this podcast for a month after coming across it on the itunes podcast page, but I am already hooked. Reviews are (mostly!) pretty accurate and both Matty and Adam know their stuff. A must have for any movie buff or film lover. 10/10.
