Created and produced by Mike Martinez and Tyler Wray, Everything is Stories is an ongoing survey of personal histories. Each episode is a first person narrative from someone who has lived through consequential changes to their notion of self and the world.
Harry Crews said it best: “Nothing is allowed to die in a society of story telling people. It is all–the good and the bad–carted up and brought along from one generation to the next. And everything that is brought along is colored and shaped by those who bring it.
These voices have told their greatest moments where peace is far and death is close. Sometimes these stories explore the philosophy of outsiders. But most importantly, these stories examine what it is to be human.
We don’t record to defend or demonstrate an idea. Rather, we create a document of what was seen and felt during their transformative experiences. Take a listen. Start anywhere. You may find a new definition of reality’s highs and lows.
Know of a story or storyteller? Send us your tales of genuine characters and unfamiliar places for consideration to: HQ@everythingisstories.com. No story too troubled, no atmosphere too strange, no realm too foreign.
Incredible podcast. I’ve listened to the Practises of Enfreakment episode featuring Mat Fraser half a dozen times over the years.

Yes
I felt like I’d struck gold when I found this podcast. Do you like stories? Do you like stories told by the most fascinating freaks, geeks and cool cats on the planet? All of them are mind blowing and yet somehow relatable. Absolutely extraordinary, I often wonder how the producer finds these people - really top notch work. I heartily hope another batch are being cooked up, if not then thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you put into these, they’re beautiful.

Just listen to it now!
Fantastic show. One of the very few podcasts that I listen to at 1x speed. My favourites are episodes 6, 9, 11, 14 but they are all great, very interesting profiles of interesting people with beautiful sound design.

The Perfect Road Trip Companion
I have inhaled these stories, devoured them.
I downloaded the lot on a recommendation of the friend when I asked for suggestions for things to listen to whilst travelling around the American Midwest.
We were enthralled; we missed exits and travelled in the wrong direction (maybe for more listening time) as we laughed and gasped out loud along the journeys.
I'd never been to America before and these tales of American lives added another dimension to the landscape as we drove along. Stories about travelling the America highways were particularly resonant for obvious reasons.
I've never stuck with a podcast for long and now I'm stuck waiting for the next episode. Thank you Garrett, Mike & Tyler.

Truth of the matter
Always look forward to new episodes dropping. A must listen for fans of Love and Radio; telling audio stories that remain after the headphones come off.
