This used to be better and sometimes humorous but it’s increasingly become a diatribe of self-righteous indignation and ‘woke’ pompous posturing. One of the hosts Laura constantly interrupts if anyone is on the way to making a decent point and generally has a “me, me, me” scratch that clearly needs constantly itching. The Irish guy seems nice but often gets withdrawn and sometimes I wonder if he’s just being polite to some of the super justified SJW nonsense that the others spout. This content is unfortunately a sign of the times and is bit like listening to what I imagine it was like behind the scenes at a Victorian circus side-show freak show.

Angry, ranting youtuber Jim Sterling and a couple of other people host a highly divisive, toxic and not very funny podcast loosely focused around gaming with a huge dose of political correctness on the side.

There are numerous major isses with this podcast thast make it very cringey, even unlistenable in my opinion.

To begin the audience is split hard along political lines, this podcast is squarely aimed at very left-wing liberal listeners and the hosts openly insult opposing political views and those that hold those views. Let me be clear, if you are not a liberal then the hosts do not want you as a listener and the podcats is likely to do nothing but anger you.

With Sterling being best known for his irrational and aggressive rants at trivial gaming matters, I was quite taken aback to find siginificant parts of this podcast are basically a tool for the hosts to enforce their political beliefs - gaming frequently takes a back seat here as entire sections of the show are used to work his fans/army of internet trolls in to a frenzy ready to pounce on whoever his latest target is.

And if you can withstand the unbelievably unappetising mixture of gaming and identity politics, the rest is a major let down too. Most gaming content fails to ever raise to anything above opinion validation or massive overreactions to minor problems with a game - there is very little content that is informative here. There is an attempt at humor too and well, if you like Jim's style of humor then there might be something here for you but as it's unscripted it's way below the standard of the youtube videos. As for the other 2 hosts, they 'try' to be funny but its genuinely barrel scrapingly awful, often relying on tiresome in-jokes.

Overall, a very tough listen.

This guy is a legend in his own lifetime. Funny, intelligent, wry, dry (maybe moist ocassionally?) He's been a staple of mine for years and couldnt recommend him enough. The Woodward & Bernstein of the gaming journalism industry.

What’s not to love? Jim has an opinion and even if you don’t agree, it’s refreshing to listen to someone rant about something they believe.

This is my favourite YouTuber/podcaster by a country mile.

Jim, gavin and Laura and brilliant

This is a fantastic podcast. Jim, Laura and Gavin are a fab trio who always entertain. What really works is that they all have different gaming interests and attitudes, it’s a genuinely great debate about video games and gaming news in general. They’re not overly judgemental and respect that different gamers like different things. In gaming groups you can feel alienated if you’re in the 1% who just don’t get Octopath Traveler, or really didn’t enjoy a certain popular game. Here you will find at least one of the trio who share a similar opinion to yourself. Plus occasionally they get wasted whilst presenting, which some other entertainment shows could benefit from. Keep up the good work guys and gal.

I have been a listener of this podcast since the very beginning. It is a great show discussing video games that each have played that week, video game news and other more random topics that are always good for a chuckle.

I think the trio don’t have the best chemistry as podcast hosts which ends up with them talking over each other or other similar blunders, but it does feel like a few friends having a somewhat informal chat for just over an hour which is great if that is what you are looking for.

My main complaint would be that after 3 years or so, the formulae has gotten pretty stale. They often feel like they are going through the motions to ensure they put out a weekly episode and in doing so this sometimes makes the episodes feel like a bit of a drag to listen to. I think the podcast would benefit from bringing on more guests which would inject a new flavour needed every once in a while, or perhaps changing to a less frequent schedule so that the news and games they have to discuss are more interesting/broad.

Overall, a good podcast but definitely needs a new injection of life!

I used to watch a lot of the Jimquisition YouTube videos, but it’s been a while and completely forgot how funny he is. Jim Sterling is brilliant. Sharp as a tack and quick witted to boot.

I have to admit that the Sonic episode has brought me back. Keep up with the tangents.

This podcast is fun. It's kinda like a pre-show where Jim and his mates (Gavin of Miracle of Sound awesomeness and... Laura who does a billion things) discuss the gaming world news sometimes, which gives Jim and Laura ideas for articles and videos while Gavin is there because Gavin is a seriously froody dude.

Listen to it. You might enjoy it. Might.

What a charming and lovely boy that Ian Boldsworth is. If anything he enhances this podcast and fully deserves a VR headset.

Well worth checking out if you love the Jimquisition. The Podquisition is a great laugh, and the dynamic between Jim, Laura and Gav is fantastic and always entertaining!

The Spin-Off Doctors is also a joy to listen to if you're looking for an hour or two to listen Jim and Conrad pick apart and analyse some video game based films.

Whilst two of the presenters are funny and give each other time to speak, one is rude and doesn't allow for others to talk. They sigh when they are not talking and are the unfunniest person I have ever heard. They ruin a rather nice podcast

Intelligent and funny gaming podcast. To make it top notch Jim and Laura just need to stop talking over Gav.

A fantastically funny and mad world of podcasting.

After listening back in the days of the Destructoid podcast and Dismal Jesters, it is great to still have a regular dose of insanity (and a bit of video game news and commentary).

A podcast I can listen to all day, whether I'm working, baking in the kitchen or just chilling. The trio of Jim, Gavin and Laura always have some opinion on almost every topic, l have found myself learning a surprising amount about many subjects like music, the LGBT community and issues, injuries, the Deep South of the US, Ireland, Pogs, Boglins and sometimes video games. The latter of which largely influence my purchases and not in a creepy manipulative way like some websites, podcasts or channels. Thank you so much for the good times, advice and opinions (this podcast helped me revise and pass exams recently which saved my job) you three are truly unique and inspiring individuals.

Great dynamic between the hosts. Plenty of humour with interesting opinions. Well worth listening too.

I like the crew, the show was much better in the past. The crew work best when they can actually cover the news and gaming topics with their views and opinions. But recently the show's quality has become An issue only about a third of the podcast is good. Toilet humour gets very boring after a while and in many episodes it's feels like they have run out of interesting things to say so more toilet jokes to fill in the time.

I much prefer the movie boys podcast where Jim is still offensive, vulgar and funny but actually has a point and is commentating on the product. That's when Jim is at his best. The humour is less forced.

It's still worth a listen but quality has gone down over the months in my opinion. The focus on political views and bias of the gang is something that has become a bigger part of the show rather that the coverage of video games and critique and news. American politics for example is not the reason why I started to listen to the show, if they can tone down on these things then the show would be better. I like all the gang Jim, Laura and Gavin. And Laura's Uk destruction podcast has the feeling of what this show was like previously. With a much more focus on gaming content.

The Movie Boys retrospective reviews bring both the funny and the facts in equal measure delivering the harsh but fair critique that bad video game movies deserve.

A great way to spend an hour and a half (length varies) 10/10 Awesome.

Amazing

The hosts bounce back and forth off of each other really well and when they occasionally talk about video games, they know what they're on about. And then when things go off the wall it's hilarious and sometimes makes me uncomfortable. And that's great. It proves I'm alive.

If you already know who Jim Sterling is then you know what this podcast is gonna be like and if you don't know it's basically the kind of podcast that you wouldn't listen to with your mum

I’m just guessing. I mean, you might. But if you find yourself angry when people disagree with you, or sound different from what you’re used to, or bring up uncomfortable topics like race and gender and sexuality, you’re going to hate this. Because this isn’t like any other video game podcasts. They don’t review games. They reference things outside of video games that are not just other forms of games.

And it’s glorious.

I think from all the content Jim does, Podquisition is definitely the best. Through this podcast I got familiar with Laura's work, and she's kickass. The interaction between them and Gav is very funny. Great podcast if you enjoy toilet humor and videogames.

Gaming podcasts tend to come in two varieties. The first is the IGN sort, a little overly PR focused and industry friendly. The hosts are nice, but one can never shake the feeling that we are constantly being sold a product. The second is the gamer focused. Produced by fans, not by those in the press. These are often cliquey, niche affairs that don’t really offer much beyond the same sort of mindless chatter found on any gaming forum.

The Jimquisition Podcast is a refreshing change in that it is hosted by three entertaining individuals who work in, and around, the games industry, but are not the tradition press crowd. They are industry insiders, but consumer friendly and they are also damned funny. This is a podcast unafraid to stray from games and just be funny.

After a while, it feels like listening to good friends, and you can’t beat that.

One of the funniest and crude podcasts you'll find about gaming. Jim, Laura and Gavin make an interesting trio and certainly don't stop me from laughing when ever they take their look at the gaming industry.

I am not a 'real' gamer but I hugely enjoy this collection of nonsense, depravity, silliness and occasionally incredibly insightful criticism. Don't know how I'd get through absurdly long shifts at work without this diverting babble. Long live Podquisition or, indeed, thank Pod for Them.

It is a great laugh. I would easily say it is one of my favourite gaming podcasts, despite the lack of gaming content at some points.

Put this in your earholes and be happy.

Cobbled together topics that dart from one to the other. Constant bashing of AAA publishers.

The only positive point is the fantastic food reviews.

All in all the podcast scores a strong 8.5/10

I cannot recommend this podcast more highly. 25 minutes into episode 7 & I was literally crying with laughter.

An intelligent and hilarious gaming podcast. It's only early days but these guys gel really well with each other. I'm looking forward to each episode. Thank God for them!
