Means a lot

The McElroys have really given me a lot of laughter and happiness through this show, especially during lockdown. Hilarious, tense, exciting, emotional- I love it! Thank you brothers and Clint

A classic

These boys get you so invested in the stories. The storytelling as well as the music and overall production, combined with how lovely the guys are makes for an amazing listen that always takes my mind off of the bad stuff going on in the world!

Best Podcast Ever

I cannot express how good this podcast/show this is. Ever since being told about it by a guy at uni no more than two months ago I have just binged this these episodes. The imagination of these arcs and stories are absolutely amazing and have constantly maintained my undying interest. I look forward to the future episodes and hope it continues for years to come.

Amazing Podcast

I don’t think any story will ever hit as hard as Amnesty did. God that thing made me cry, and god I wish I could relisten to it without knowing the ending. Absolutely recommend this to anyone getting into DnD, or even a veteran DnD player, it’s good for anyone :)

You’ll laugh out loud in public and not care

As others have said, start from the beginning for this joyous romp of a role playing game. The banter between the McElroys is great and makes you feel part of the fun. I must have listened to the Balance arch at least 3 times and am still enjoying it.
I’ve got the books as well, which are a great way of reliving the fun,

Incredible listen!

Came into this podcast blind, had only known about the McElroys from articles surrounding ‘My Brother, My Brother and Me’, and was so glad I pressed play. The McElroy family creates vibrant and extremely likeable characters in a world full of hilarity and, despite the fantasy settings, authenticity. Started listening to MbMbaM after the first couple episodes of TAZ and am now a declared McElroy fan.
Amazing.

Fantastic

This was my first step into real play D&D podcasts - the first 69 episodes (Balance Arc) is absolutely amazing from start to finish - would highly recommend to anyone interested in a great story! Light on rules and big on fun it will leave you wanting to hear more from that world. Absolutely huge props to Griffin for taking the role of GM! After episode 69 they dabble in some diferent roleplaying games before settling on Monster of the Week. The Amnesty arc is great too, but a much different tone - a lot darker and less comedy for the most part. They have recently started the third campaign -D&D again! This time with Griffin GM'ing. It's good so far but we're yet to get too deep in!

Exceptional

This podcast is just a gosh darn great one. You don’t have to love D&D, the McElroy’s are hilarious and create a joy filled hour each episode. The stories are great, the characters are great and it’s just a wonderful podcast. Start from the beginning and enjoy :)

Don’t be put off by the number of episodes!

Please! Just pick an arc ‘Balance’ or ‘Amnesty’ (Etc) and start. They are wonderful, silly, thoughtful and so enjoyable. It’s my all time favourite podcast, perfect if you like listening to stories and hanging with friends. These guys will quickly become your friends and the adventures they go on will be fantastic. They start a bit tounge-in-cheek at the very very beginning but D&D and role playing games soon become a vehicle for just excellent story telling and character development. Also, their Dad reminds me so much of my folks, it’s adorable.

So entertaining

I’m not a D&D player but I found the plot very entertaining and funny. I just finished Adventure time: balance and the characters were so well done, it brought me so much happiness when I was alone or sad. Thank you for creating such a unique podcast!👏🏽

Light hearted and certainly a fun approach to D&D

After completing the Vox Machina campaign of critical role I decided to pick up on the Adventure Zone. A much more relaxed and fun focused approach to role playing. id say more Discworld than Middle Earth, but the story arks remain compelling. I happily set aside any rules tumbling around in my head, and enjoy how the narrative proceeds at pace. Should be a lesson to all DMs, rules are there to be ignored and broken when they get in the way.

As good as you’ve probably heard...

I’ve played a fair number of tabletop roleplaying james and listened to a ton of podcasts. This is perhaps the best example of actual play RPG’s in podcastlandville.
Sure, Critical Role hit the emotional drama and bring amazing professionalism to their campaigns.
Friends at the Table truly deliver on their promise of ‘smart characterisation & critical world-building’.
And a host of others all offer something slightly different and valued.
The McElroys did something else. Some bizarre hybrid of epic storytelling & perfect comedy that is just so munteringly (yes, that’s a real word) joyful to listen to! Exactly what it is they created, you’ll have to listen & decide for yourself.
TAZ has been running a long time now so I’m a little late in saying this but thank you Griffin, Justin, Travis & Clint for all the work you put into this... keep it coming.

Makes you laugh, cry, and everything in between

Writing this just as Graduation starts; but I’ve been with these boys since the beginning of Amnesty. Such an incredible podcast from 4 incredible people, all of them just so amazingly talented at acting and storytelling and comedy and all of it. I cannot tell you the amount of emotions I’ve felt over this podcast and these stories; I’ve sobbed, gasped, been speechless, jumped with excitement, and laughed so hard my stomach hurt. You won’t regret listening to this podcast.

Joyful

After enjoying My Brother, My Brother and Me, I wanted to give something else by the McElroy brothers a try and I'm so glad I did. I'm not even a DnD player, but these guys create an entertaining story in a hilarious way. I can listen to this for hours.

Incredible fantasy story telling from season to season. The boys don’t disappoint with hilarious one-liners and jokes every episode, which Griffin skilfully weaves into a cohesive storyline which will leave you profoundly moved. A true masterpiece.

A good good story-telling podcast

A great podcast, would 100% recommend to anyone and be confident they would enjoy it. Th characters are easy to fall in love with and you are immediately invested in their progress through the story. Truly a masterpiece of storytelling; Griffin is a fantastic GM and I’m positive that he enjoys throwing us a curveball as much as I love trying to catch it. The highest quality podcast I’ve had the pleasure of listening to.

Perfection.

This podcast broke me. But in a good way. I’ve laughed, cried and screamed at this. You are transported into the worlds they create and you don’t even realise time has passed by the end of it. Best thing I’ve listened too.

The best.

Some of the best storytelling I have ever come across. The McElroy family really care about it’s listeners and strive with great passion to try and give us the most hilarious, powerful, beautiful stories they could possibly give us. Both current arcs, TAZ Balance and TAZ Amnesty are absolutely amazing for different reasons and I highly recommend both!

What got me into D&D as well as podcasts

After seeing so animatics and videos dedicated to the adventure zone on youtube I decided to check them out. I was originally intimidated by the sheer number of episodes but found I was able to listen to them relatively quickly whilst I was (somewhat fittingly was doing woodwork).
Genuinely charming and funny, you’ll feel as if you’re with a group of friends playing the iconic game. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, an absolute must have.

Astounding

This is the show that got me into podcasts. I’ve cried with laughter on every form of public transport imaginable while listening to this show. The comedy is perfect the world building that grows over the course of the show is something else. A truly unique and wonderful story with thoughtful characterisation and a plot with more twists than a bag of snakes. The balance arc genuinely changed how I think about storytelling, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
