Zarjazz 2000AD material

40 years on from issue 1, 2000AD keeps its place as 'the galaxy's greatest comic'.
The regular podcast gives some great insights into the creative process that produces 2000AD though interviews with the writers and artists as well as some of the publishing team.
The recent extra podcasts from the 40 year 2000AD event in Hammersmith have been a splendid bonus. Each additional podcast has covered a panel discussion or creator interview. These have given some great historical information on 2000AD and the work of the brilliant creative minds behind it. Some have also offered hints of the future for 2000AD and its characters.
If you're interested in comics, British pop culture, SF, or the creative process get this podcast.

Thank grud...

Love this podcast. So great to get such insight into the history and making of one of the UK's best comics - and the other comics that informed and were informed by 2000AD. Essential comic-lover fuel.

Some People Say Nostalgia Is a Thing of the Past

Excellent pod cast, loving it. Great for nostalgia moments and cultural referencing. Importantly for me the podcast has been a means by which I've really got back into 2000AD. I stopped reading it after the Apocalypse War I think, jings way back in 1982/3. A very good balance between being interesting, fun and informative and that thing called commercial imperative (very, very minimal). Right enough I've bought a shed load of digital graphic novels and other stuffs on the basis of what I've heard on the podcast. Cliche time 'this is what a podcast about a cultural icon should sound like' nuff said.

More than mere promotion

It took me a while to try this podcast because I just assumed it would be promotional fluff but it's actually a fun, frank and engaging look behind the scenes.

Getting steadily stronger

Molch-R was clearly nervous when the podcast began, and not a natural broadcaster; but he’s an intelligent droid and his work improves with each podcast.
If you are a fan of the comics medium, this is a highly enjoyable and fascinating listen.
If you are a fan of Judge Dredd/2000AD, it is pretty much compulsory.
I am pretty picky with podcasts, so if they are good but not holding my attention, I drop my subscription. I started with the first Thrill-Cast, I’m still here, and it’s getting better.
Recommended.

Lots to go at..

Been listening to these from the start and I felt April 15th release was the most interesting and rounded to date. Great list of guests and nice to speak to a writer as well as the raft of artists. With SO much material to work at there is no reason why this cannot go from strength to strength. A monthly release wound be a shame!

Brilliant...

Been a fan of 2000 AD and Dredd for years but weirdly non of my mates want to talk to me about the subject Ha! Brilliant to finally have a podcast where I can listen to other people (droids) waxing lyrical about the Big Meg and such.
Also excellent marketing tool, I have just subscribed to the Mega Collection... looking forward to receiving my Dredd badge with the first issue... I'm 37 years old...

Zarjaz

I havent read 2000AD in years but I loved it when I was a kid and can remember buying the first issue in 1976/1977. I still have an interest in the characters and really enjoyed the first couple of episodes of this podcast. It is clear sound quality and not full of swearing. Enjoyed the interview with Colin MacNeil and would love it if they had more interviews with some of the creators from the early days.

Really good to have an official podcast

I love the fan podcasts but this is the real deal. The first two have been really good and broadcast quality.

Fantastic companion to the comic!

PR droid Molch-R takes us behind Tharg's curtain with interviews and discussions with key people involved in the making of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic, and Mega City One's Greatest Lawman! While initial episodes are focused on the Judge Dredd Mega Collection, I look forward to seeing more varied topics covering some of the other universes in 2000AD's wheelhouse. Perhaps a Nikolai Dante retrospective, one day?!
