The Lionel Messi, The Beatles, the Muhammad Ali of True Crime. Tried loads of different ones but I just love this one so much. Seems like absolute levels above all the other podcasts i’ve tried. The way he talks so precisely and clearly, his tone, accent, delivery and sheer depth of the information, everything is just bang on. The amount of work and research that must go into these podcasts is astounding and it is truly truly appreciated. Find myself taking the long way home in the car just to get some more True Crime in my earholes. Keep up the amazing work Casefile because we all love it.

…..monotone narration, I find myself distracted too often

I have been interested in true crime for the past 20 years and also work in the mental health field including forensics. I came across casefile at the beginning of July 2023 and have been engrossed in the podcasts all summer/autumn. The growth in the content and the story telling from the first episode has been significant. My favourite thing about this podcast is the narrator never provides his opinion, I never know how he feels about the story, he just states the facts from both sides. I dislike when a narrator provides their opinion, it puts me off. I also think this narrator could talk about paint drying and i would find it fascinating. I think it’s important that it’s mainly the victims names in the episode headings rather than the perpetrators because people always forget about the victims and become more interested/obsessed by the perpetrator.

The only constructive feedback I feel I could provide is letting us know if it’s a solved or unsolved case either in the contents or at the beginning of the podcast.

I’ve listened to many true crime podcasts but Casefile is the best. Really well produced and narration excellent.

You can choose all free episodes or pay a small monthly charge and receive extra content. Personally I’m happy to pay to contribute towards keeping the podcast going. Keep up the great work Casefile Team!!

But recently more and more episodes seem to be paid only and it’s a shame as weeks go by without a free episode and it’s hard to follow.

A shame really adverts would be a better format

I’ve been listening to Case file since 2019 and have always loved it! However I’ve noticed editing mistakes keep cropping up - sudden skipping forward and missing parts of the audio. This is also in the most recent one released. Still great just slightly annoying when it’s 2-3 x during the episode

I wonder if they just can’t be bothered as much for the people that don’t pay their subscription.

I’ve listened to almost every episode of Casefile to date. Disappointed to see that I now need to pay for an additional subscription for the ‘privelige’. As an Apple subscriber I think that’s more than enough. Will delete Casefile from my saved shows.

I can’t listen to any other true crime podcasts since this one. I love it! Factual, sympathetic to the cases, no opinions or theories, just brilliant. A lot of reviews have said about too many cases about children but really these episodes are in the minority

I prefer this as some of the other podcasts have side chat with the personal feelings of the narrator added. This one is great, just facts so it allows a listener to make up their own mind. The Leigh Leigh case broke my heart though. So so sad. The bystander effect.

Too many child stories and it's really off putting... no mix or variety. Also I'm sure the narrating is robotic almost AI.

In my view this is one of two of the best true crime podcasts out there. Can’t make my mind which is best but this is definitely one of them. Excellent.

Eps written by the anonymous host and Milly Raso have kept me up at night! Superb team all round from the music to the sensitive writing it’s my go-to for classic feeling Crime - it’s reliable, consistent, terrifying, moving, and hosted with the loveliest warm ozzy. Reviewers stating audio issues should take it up with Apple or update your device because all my Casefile episodes work fine; it must be an Apple issue not Casefile.

I listen to a lot of podcasts. Multiple hours a week. This is my absolute go to though. Narration is excellent. Content is great and very respectfully done. 100% recommend. Everyone I’ve told about it thinks it’s great!

Been a long time listener but the massive increase in child victim stories this year has out me off. I’ve been thinking about the subscription but not until the content changes.

Great stories but he has a strange pattern of speech

It’s well researched and the delivery is perfection. No stupid banter between hosts or irrelevant content, just the facts and the story delivered in a well structured way, almost like a case delivered to the jury with different angles and perspectives. My new favorite!

Since switching to subscription this podcast has become a problem for me.

I can’t delete subscription episodes they sit alongside unplayed and muddy my view

I understand Casey needs to fund this but over the years the ads have become invasive and the subscription push leaves a bad taste. I have stopped downloading now - for well over a year - to find other stories - all of which are free.

My husband falls asleep within minutes of listening but if you speed up the delivery to 1.5 speed it is a faster, slicker, and better listen.

Love love love the podcast (and his voice) so thought I would try out the free trial of bonus subscription for a week before I purchase the full subscription. However you don’t get a free week! It let me listen to 1 and no other bonus episodes else will “connect”. Funny enough the only ones I can listen to are still the regular episodes. Such a shame as I was so excited!!! Needless to say I just cancelled it and won’t continue to the paid subscription as this doesn’t give me any confidence that when I pay they will work. I agree with other reviews there doesn’t seem to be enough extra content given for people to pay for it with so many other free true crime out there. Such a shame as this is my fave!….naughty naughty guys.

I have listened for years, the cases are well researched and presented. The hosts voice however is very monotone and tends to allow me to drift off having to rewind parts I have missed.

Recently with the subscription model it has went downhill. Why present me with episodes I can’t access and no information as to when I can access them without subscription. Subscription should be an added extra to subscribers not the main pod. How do you expect to keep listeners.

The podcast is very well written and researched, I really enjoy listening to the authors voice I find it quite therapeutic even though the content is usually quite graphic.

I did subscribeFor a few months but felt it really wasn't any benefit for me, I don't particularly enjoy the show notes or behind the scenes. And I don't think the subscription episodes were enough on a monthly basis. Apart from that I have no issues

Casefile is the podcast by which all others are judged, true crime or otherwise IMHO. Nothing else comes close. Like the last reviewer said, it’s very well researched and then written into a gripping, engaging, atmospheric narration. I love it and look forward to Saturdays when the new episodes drop. Enjoy!

Such a brilliant podcast series. Loads of episodes, some really interesting cases I have not heard of in other series/true crime programmes and I love the narrators voice.

I love nothing more than driving round listening to all the grizzly murders when at work or plane spotting at Newcastle airport as I think I’m a bit of a psychopath hehe!

I love this podcast and have listened from the beginning.

Previously, in the first episodes (before it reached 100 or so) it was such an easy listen but at the same time found myself immersed in the story.

After that, when it has become bigger I find it’s been too “formalised”.

The hosts narration at beginning was like listening to a real person and it was easy to feel engaged.

Now, I find myself having to rewind as I miss parts due to the fact I switch. It’s become a bit monotone, which is a shame. I listen to the older episodes quite often. It would be nice if it could go back.

Have been listening to this podcast since the initial covid lockdown. I listen every night before I go to sleep, his voice is so calm and I find it very relaxing to listen to. The do each story justice and make it about the victim!

The narrator sounds like a automated voice, which I can’t seem to get past in order to actually hear the story.

Despite the content, which I find fascinating, I find the narrator’s voice very reassuring and calming. Initially, this was the main attraction for me.

Over several years I have caught up with your whole catalogue.

I strongly recommend any prospective listener to try you for 15 minutes. I’m sure they’ll remain a listener.
