The adversity that the New Democrats have been encountering turns into progress when they discover that they now have enough signatures to register for election. However, this brings new challenges to the party, since they lack candidates for the constituencies. Fortunately, Birgitte has a candidate in the pipeline; Søren Ravn, a professor of economics at the University of Copenhagen. Not all of the candidates in the party are equally enthusiastic about this news. Erik Hoffmann is worried about Ravn's political past. Ravn has previously been a member of the Communist Party, and is known to be very left-wing. A vote is held among the party leadership on whether they should accept Ravn in the party.
