Description
In this episode, George goes to Worcestershire to meet Chris and Lucy who have taken the plunge and ditched their semi detached house in the city for a farm out in the country. But in the absence of a traditional farm house to live in, Chris decides to buy four porta-cabins with a view to convert them into the house of his dreams. The aim is to clad it with timber and make it into a three bedroom house. But with the weather turning and limited funds, will he have the time or the budget to see the project through? In Warwickshire recently qualified primary school teacher Lauren wants to convert her garden into a holiday getaway. She wants to convert her pond into a sunken sitting area and erect a beach hut and bar at the back of the garden. Sounds easy enough, but she’s set herself a budget of only £1,800 and she only has her half term week’s holiday to complete the project. What’s more, she’s never built anything in her life and is relying on her friends and family to get it done. On his Italian road trip George discovers a prefab house made of timber and triple glazing with a stunning view of the mountains. What’s more is that if you got bored of that view, you could just pick it up and move it somewhere else. And back in the UK, George and Will’s wilderness retreat build continues as the pair decide to erect an outdoor composting toilet with rusty sheet metal and a toilet seat made from barbed wire.
