Lucky Danny is going to his first high school dance with his ultimate crush, Paulina - a very popular-but-shallow girl who is only going with him to spite Sam, who can't stand her. Meanwhile, Danny discovers that he has the ghostly power to "overshadow" and inhabit the bodies of others - which comes in handy when his dad, Jack, is called in for a parent/teacher conference to discuss Danny's shortcomings. Danny's plan backfires when his teacher, Mr. Lancer, pegs the overshadowed Jack as a chaperone for the dance.
