Detective William Murdoch is running for his life from a pair of British security agents through the streets of Bristol, England. Taking refuge in a pub owned by the lovely Anna Fulford , Murdoch admits that he may indeed be the murderer the agents accuse him of being. Meanwhile, in Toronto, Inspector Thomas Brackenreid, Constable George Crabtree and Medical Examiner Dr. Julia Ogden have no idea what's become of Murdoch, missing now a week, until they find evidence that he was at the scene of an unidentified murdered man.
