Description
Claire Randall is reunited with her husband after returning from the battlefields of World War II. While on their second honeymoon she walks through one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles and is suddenly transported to 1743 Scotland, torn by war and rogue Highland clans. Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into intrigue and danger when she is accused of being a spy. Forced by circumstance to marry an outlawed Highlander, she finds herself falling in love and torn by her loyalties to two men in vastly different times, all of which may threaten her life and shatter her heart.

Scenery and filming are great. Some of the acting is lame and not that convincing. Too much gore.

Amazzzzin, Wonderful, Captivating & enjoying my Scottish History. The "Outlander" cast visited my workplace, for filming Season II. Cannot wait to see it in all it's glory on film, with such a friendly, creative cast and film crew.
What a deceptive trailer

This looked decent in the trailer, but it was utterly awful. Script, direction, plot, acting were all bad. Brigadoon minus. I couldn’t wait to turn it off. Watching what I saw of this was he equivalent of a lobotomy.

Excellent series on many levels. Characters, plot, historical content and a cool bit of time travel and witchery to-boot !! I thought it handled its serious content really well. It takes a lot of thought and care with the subject matter it dealt with (without spoiling for future watchers)
Looking forward to series 2!! Well done guys!!!

Intriguing historical drama (with an unusual twist). Stunning scenery, as well as the costumes and finer details. Excellent cast choices. Really, really enjoyed it. For book fans - the adaptation has been done to very high standards. Looking forward to the next season.

A fantastic series, unjustly advertised in the UK media as a SCI-Fi thriller. Having watched scenes being filmed live in Falkland in Episode 1 and met the actors/actresses and seeing the end result, Starz have done am amazing job reflecting the books from Diana Gabaldon.
It has moments of story, moments of emotion, moments of comedy, and moments of violence which although not pleasant to watch is necessary to the story.
Despite the political stories behind its delayed release in Scotland, and having seen it now via Amazon Prime, I will still purchase this to support the production.
Season 2 began filming in Dysart, and I watched this also.

This series is fantastic. I agree with the first reviewer, it takes a while to get going but after the first couple of episodes everything falls into place. The first two episodes set the scene and then the story really gets going. Cannot wait for series two! Brilliant acting and storyline plus beautiful scenery, a real must-see. Best thing by far I have watched in a long time.

This series is simply stunning. The acting, directing, scenery and music make it completely captivating. Make sure you watch episode one all the way through, you will be hooked by the end of it and each episode gets better and better.
