Absolutely love this, can’t wait for series 2

I despair of the ‘big’ drama series that the BBC now pushes out. They (the commissioning editors) can’t help themselves: ‘what angle can we get on this story?’ In this case, any old political message, but the problem is the holes in the story line. There is too much belief suspension required here (civil detective being flown on to a ballistic nuclear submarine-the navy has it’s own), and, without giving plot spoilers away, would Russia really engage all those resources, just to achieve what it became apparent they wanted to? Flights of fancy, but that would have spoiled the message… However, as infuriating as I found the storyline, top marks to the actors. All good, Paterson Joseph especially, had great dignity and clout as the sub commander. If he’d just been fifteen years younger, a shoe-in for James Bond!

A decent series!
