Gross Inaccuracies in a medium weight medieval drama
I bought this series having first watched the interview with Ken Follett, the author, who went to great lengths to describe the attention to detail and the lengths he went to in achieving historical accuracy in his work. Unfortunately, in all the accounts I have read of the early years of the reign of Edward III, his wife Philippa of Hainault figured strongly in his life rather than his mother, along with his rapidly expanding family, most significantly his eldest son, Edward of Woodstock born June 1330. To say that I am very disappointed in this series is an understatement.
