David Hare's trilogy, ripped from the headlines, focuses on the internal divisions and arguments which have been raging inside an increasingly controversial intelligence community. Page Eight, Turks & Caicos, and Salting the Battlefield star Bill Nighy as MI5 Officer Johnny Worricker, along with an outstanding cast including Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Winona Ryder, Chrstopher Walken, Olivia Williams and Rachel Weisz.

Three wonderful episodes in a great story - spies meet politicians. David Hare does a great job with the screenplay which is measured and mesmerising. If you like Le Carre you should like this.

Terrible writing

It’s like a comedy sketch I’m afraid. People keep repeating lines back and forth: “why did you do it”,”i don’t know? Why do you think I did it? kind of stuff. Feels very padded , yes thats right padded, oh easy for you to say it’s padded. Plus side: good acting.

Good plots and excellent acting
