Description

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and All Your Perfects, a “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) about a workaholic with a too-good-to-be-true romance can’t stop thinking about her first love—soon to be a major motion picture.
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).

Naked truth, I haven’t read a book in years. So happy I chose this text to be me first of many more to come. Initially I couldn’t put it down but there were certain points in the text that I had to because I was nervous as to what will happen next. Did I mention I cried at one point, I felt for Lily, Ryle, and Atlas. Colleen’s creative writing skills are impeccable. Can’t wait to begin reading It Start With Us. Also anticipating seeing it come to life on the big screen.

Love Colleen Hoover !

This book was at times hard to read. I felt myself telling Lily what to do. Frustrated with the choices. But easier said than done. After reading the authors take on why she wrote the book, it really hit me that it was never supposed to be a perfect ending. Overall I read this book quickly and enjoyed it very much. I look forward to the next one. I recommend the read if you’ve read the summary and think it will interest you even the slightest.

This book if for every heartbroken little girl that lives inside of us, the ones that had to watch our Mommas hurt. To have to find the courage to learn how to love others.. but most importantly, how to love ourselves first.

i honestly think this is my favorite book and is the best book to exist. The story was just amazing from lily growing up to her new love and then reconciling with old love was amazing. It was a slow burn. And to be honest i love Ryle even though you may think he’s a jerk i love him and i do think he deserved another chance and would recommend anger management classes and marriage consueling but this book was overall amazing! i definitely cried throughout the book and related to lily when it comes to love sometimes we’re so in love that we don’t realize that we are being hurt. overall i will never forget this book and i think everyone should read it and i absolutely love it.

Truly, I don’t read allot but these either had to be my longest or best time spent on a book. The story actually reminded of someone, a loved one, who kind has gone through the same situation. I hope this book can inspire her to speak up about these type of situations, and she’s actually the reason I bought this book. It was in her bedroom. I understood why she bought this book, I would too. I think this helps me see from her POV.

I just finished reading this book and I applaud the author for bringing a difficult subject into the light. I don’t want to spoil this story for future readers. But, I too was a victim many years ago. It’s a subject most people don’t talk about but, they really need to. I also want to say that I think this is one of the Best books I have ever read. I normally never read romance novels but something made me decide to read it. It grabs you and holds onto you from the start all the way to the finish. The only thing I didn’t care for was the sexual aspect but, that’s just me. This author reminds me of Nicholas Sparks in some ways. I hope you decide to read this book. I promise you that you won’t regret it. Lastly, I hope it’s made into a movie. It’s that good!

This book is mixed. It is raw and true, and poignant about the generational experience of domestic abuse. The setting of everything else however is sugary and besides the abusive situation, everything else in the life of the character is picture perfect, even the abuser when he is not abusive. People are rich and successful, buying apartments in Boston and starting great businesses. Hard work prevails, and true love perseveres.

Oh my goodness! I have heard of so many amazing things about this book and people hyping it up so much. Many people were saying that it was an emotional roller coaster that they felt while reading this book. A lot of people mentioned that this book, along with “It Starts With Us” is like a therapy session. Let me say that I have never felt so much emotion while reading a book in my life. This book had me sad, angry, tense, happy, worried. I even gasped in some of these pages! I completely understand the hype around Colleen’s books and I’m so glad that I read this one. I am super excited to read “It Starts With Us”. I 100% recommend!

This is my first Colleen Hoover book and I was very disappointed. Don’t waste your time reading this book as it is obvious that the author didn’t really research Domestic Violence/Abuse (though she mentioned this book is quite personal to her)—if you have actually done research on it you know why I mention this. I’m actually quite concerned that none of the reviews mention the fact that an 18-year-old grooms and then sleeps with a 15-year-old. I know that age of consent varies between states in this country, but I still couldn’t get over this. Atlas is a predator. Period. Furthermore, I am quite baffled at the raving reviews because the writing is at an 8th-grade level where most of the chapters and characters seem like outlines of much meatier ones. Thus, characters aren’t developed well enough to connect. Overall a huge disappointment—there are so many much lesser-known authors that truly write about complex matters with their soul, so give them a chance and don’t buy into the hype of authors like CH.

Loved it!

How do you even start writing a review for a book that has left an indelible scar on your heart and soul? There are simply no words that I could string together to deliver you anything as poignant and touching as the message that Colleen Hoover has conveyed with It Ends With Us. There were times I literally had to force myself to put the book down just to absorb the all the emotions that were given.
“Maybe love isn’t something that comes full circle. It just ebbs and flows, in and out, just like the people in our lives.”
Colleen Hoover has a magical quality to her writing that I don’t know how to explain, but continue to fall in love with time and time again. She really understands the multi-dimensional aspects to a person and conveys them beautifully. She forces readers to feel sympathy for characters you should dislike, while also despising actions that they may take. At the same time, she is able to make me empathize with characters and find pieces of myself in all her major heroines, Lily included. Honestly, it’s fascinating for me to see where she will take the different personalities in her stories. Lily and Ryle’s story is a rollercoaster ride that is genuine, tumultuous, and beyond personal.
“Fifteen seconds. That’s all it takes to completely change everything about a person.”
It Ends With Us is a novel that made me smile, made me hurt, and certainly made me reflect. When an author can take a situation and make her readers feel like they’re being spoken to on a soul-deep level, I think it’s safe to say that it’s a phenomenal read. The subject matter wasn’t always easy to get through, but I felt like Hoover had to break my heart in order to put it back together. As odd as it may sound, she even filled in cracks I had known were there, but couldn’t figure out how to mend. Her words were just that powerful.
“I feel like everyone fakes who they really are, when deep down we’re all equal amounts of screwed up. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others.”
This isn’t a long review, and it is definitely vague, but I want every reader to just experience It Ends With Us. I want people to close their eyes, go for the ride, and trust the journey that they go on. Colleen Hoover is by far my favorite writer, but I’m never sure how she’ll top her previous release. She continues to grow, continues to pour her heart and soul into the pages of her novels, and I can say with utmost certainty that it shows. It Ends With Us is so different to any of her previous books, yet filled with the signature Colleen Hoover style. I have the utmost faith that readers everywhere will fall in love with these characters and everything they’ve been through; there is no doubt that it’s her best work yet!
