I would probably give this 5 stars but for two things. First, I think there’s a system that I haven’t figured out. Maybe I will after a while but by the second class, I had to stop and recheck the poses. Clearly I need to use the provided charts. Anyway, I practiced yoga for many years and feel like I know most of the poses but have been out of it for a while so need a refresher. The classes move very quickly though so if I miss a pose, we’re off to the next one before I can get it right. I’m used to a slower style where you hold the position for a while.
The speed isn’t a criticism though. It’s just different than what I’m used to.
Anyway, as I said, I’ve been out of yoga for a while and want to get back. I am loving these classes. For me, 20 minutes is a good length because I don’t think I can last a 90 minute class at this point. As I said, I am still trying to figure this system out because lesson 2 seemed to be pretty advanced compared to 1. Maybe it’s just because I am so out of shape at the moment. And I assume that students combine these classes to get longer practices.
So slight confusion on my part about how to follow along and the speed. Neither are really criticisms of what is really a great podcast. It is challenging and the provided pose charts are invaluable. I am looking forward to getting into this more and enjoying it for a long time. Thanks!

This was a great workout. Better for someone who's a bit familiar with yoga, as the instructor moves at a moderate pace. However, the format and the downloadable guide make these accessible to everyone. Plus, as has been mentioned, you can work in yoga whenever you have a few minutes. Practice makes progress!

I really enjoy these podcasts and how easy it is to try different teachers and styles of yoga. The one issue I'm having is that some episodes won't stay deleted. They reappear every time I open the app and it's very irritating.

I’ve tried a bunch of different yoga podcasts, and this is definitely the one I like the most. It’s great to have 20-25 minute sessions, perfect for in the morning before work or winding down after a long day. The variety is great too - relaxing, morning flows to sun salutations to tough power flows.

I have always loved doing yoga, but like many others, having to depend on a visual like a teacher or video is distracting and difficult for me. I do at least two 20 minute sessions a day with these podcasts and they really are the first time I have legitimately (and consistently) enjoyed exercising to the point where I am actually seeing positive change in my body. I may even have to look at longer sessions because they don't seem long enough!

For the most part the sessions are pretty good and helpful and I usually enjoy doing them but on of the sessions just made me angry, the fearless heart one, because half the time the speaker would say the indian term of the position and wouldn’t explain what it is so I had know idea what I was doing because I didn’t spend the time memorizing the poses. Also I couldn’t understand what the speaker was saying so once again I had no idea what I was doing. My yoga level is probably intermediate but I don’t think that was an aspect in my frustration to that session. I have done many other sessions on this site and liked them all but the fearless heart one.

Amazing!

I love this app. I play the podcast on my iPad while the downloaded positions guide is on the screen for reference. I love that sessions are around 20 minutes, so I can get a little bit in on a hectic day. Sometimes I'll do several sessions at different times whenever I have a break.

I've been following Yoga Download for a few years now and I love the majority of their classes--especially classes taught by Jackie Causal. I find their audio recordings are easy to follow and more relaxing and "inward focused" than watching yoga videos. I've bought several of their longer classes at their website. Well worth it!

I have been wanting to get back into yoga for a long time, but feel intimidated walking into a class while so out of practice. In addition I am a graduate student with a hectic schedule and low budget. These podcasts have been exactly what I need to work on my posture and poses and to get back into the flow of things. There are different options for tuning into each class whether you prefer audio only with a pose guide, or the video to see what you're supposed to do, or all of the above. I will support these podcasts as much as I can and will recommend to many.

This podcast is exceptional. The instructors give explanations to help you get the correct position even without looking at the pose guide. When taking live yoga sessions, instuctors have asked if I am advanced and 90% of what I have learned has been from this podcast. It will help with tightness and minor pains. Yoga stretching is an unbelievable cure for so many aches and pains. Highly recommend this podcast.

What's great about this podcast is that whatever your need is, you can find something that fits. For example: I've been doing yoga for years, but after a few busy weeks when I did a lot of gardening and traveling and little yoga, I'm stiff and my back and hips hurt. I'm chronically busy, but determined to find 20 minutes a day for yoga and aspiring to 45 minutes to an hour. Finally, because my internet connection is somewhat unreliable, I may not be able to download a large video podcast, but a still would like a visual reference. Solution: download a gentle hatha sequence, a hip opener, and a shoulder opener in the audio format, with the excellent pose guides for each. As my back and hips get back to normal, I can substitute a more vigorous vinyasa sequence for the hatha yoga. If I've got 20 minutes I can get a short class in, but if I have more time, I can skip shavasana and go directly to the next class. The queuing and instruction for all classes I've tried were clear and easy to follow. The wide variety of classes available means I can try many different styles of yoga without shelling out $15 for a class I may hate. There are a number of excellent yoga podcasts on iTunes, but this is my current favorite.

These podcasts have brought yoga into my life on a daily basis. I am 56 yrs. with arthritis, a compressed spine, and years of not stretching. I'm working on my strength and flexibility when I can, where I can, and privately. I love the music, the pace, the clear concise instruction, and most of all the wisdom given with each lesson. Thank you so much for providing me with a no-excuses way to a healthier body and spirit.

I really like these audio and video workouts. But when I go to use one, all of the titles look the same, except for time, and the title that showed up in iTunes doesn't show up on my device. A real pain! So I have to open each one to look at it and see if it is the one I want. I would give 5 stars if it was just more practical for use.

I read through the reviews first and they don't even begin to describe just how excellent these are. It felt like I had my own personal Yoga instructor in my house. She was detailed with her description of the poses I didn't have to worry about trying to remember what they looked like from memory and even though I did print out the pose guide, I didn't need it.

This is one of my favorite yoga podcasts. The instructions are detailed and give lots of good corrections and tips.
I've been doing yoga for about 10 years and I am still learning things from these podcasts.
So grateful for them. Thank you!
I combine these with Faith Hunter podcasts (usually 90 or 120 minutes).
I love both but these sessions actually give more detailed instruction for adjustments.

I've been practicing yoga for about a year and tried this podcast (Power Vinyasa Flow #2) after hearing about it from a friend. It was generally good with some parts of her instruction a bit unclear to me - at a few points I wasn't sure what exaclty she wanted me to do with my arms - and when she was had a lot to say, she rushed to get it out, or at least that's how it felt. The background music (ethereal sounding tones) was kind of hokey at first, but I got used to it. The practice itself was great, she held poses longer than I am used to, which provided lots of heat, and in general the flow was at a good pace. I will definitely try other podcasts by her and I think once I get used to her style, it will go more smoothly.

I am not sure how people can comment on this podcast after the date of the last session? Maybe they are going back over past sessions. I'm new to yoga and have always wanted to try it...this podcast is awesome for us newbies! Not only does it provide a personal yoga trainer in your own home on your own schedule, but a pose guide is provided to print off! Obviously, it's not the perfect yoga class, as there isn't an instructor telling you exactly how do the poses correctly, but at this point in my yoga career, this podcast is what works for me!

I was hesitant at first when I downloaded an audio only yoga practice, I was used to downloading video podcast. But I found the audio version is much better. The cues and descriptions are wonderful and I focus much more on my posture and breathing then looking around at a screen. And if for some reason a pose just doesn't make sense by the audio, there is a pdf with pictures of the poses in order. I highly encourage anyone and everyone to try this podcast.

This is a yoga video not a class. It would be impossible to make a dialogue for each viewer... I think that it is understood that you should have a basic understanding of yoga before trying any video. (I think it may even mention that in the disclaimer at the beginning) Yes some people may be crooked or standing out of alignment but a lot of the things the teachers say DO help like "elongate the back" or be sure to "drop your hip when you raise your leg" and that helps keep me in check. Obviously if your not in.a hands on class the teacher can't give you corrections but I've been in classes where they don't do that anyway! This is a great way to get a quick yoga workout in and hey if you do two it's like you hit the gym. The teachers are great and take time to explain positions while also including the spiritual side to the practice. I love to do a session and then have a hot cup of tea right after to help the detox process that goes on within your body during yoga. Take time out of your day put this on relax and enjoy!

Love the slide show format. Even better than the new video format. I would have given this 5 stars, but some instructors talk too much about finding inner peace or whatever. I've been doing these for about 6 months and the most surprising outcome is improved upper body strength. Even better than lifting weights. And my posture and balance are hugely improved.

As a teacher...

I was trained by Bikram and have long heard that "the dialog" is not good because it's repetitive. I believe it's important to change dialog for each student as they need corrections and I believe that a teacher should know what the dialog means about the yoga, but these teachers don't explain postures at all. There is an assumption that "you know basic yoga alignment" but I know many students, even teachers, who need adjustments and corrections 20 years into practice. A teacher standing at the front of the room and calling out postures isn't teaching. Some of these teachers say things like "allignment creates opportunity for understanding in your pose" but they never describe what "allignment" is in a given posture. I really don't understand what every one is raving about. These teachers aren't giving clear instructions to students. If all a yoga teacher does is name postures I can certainly do a class on my own and don't learn anything from the teacher....

I spend 90% of my time living out of hotel rooms. This podcast gave me an interesting workout option I can stick with, no matter where I go. A great supplement to my old crunches/pushups/squats/treadmill routine. The 20 minute format is perfect for hectic schedules. I love the routines, but the best part is the PDF guides. I can study the moves before a workout and look up info on any I'm not familiar with. And I don't have to lug a book around with me! Personally, I actually find this worksheet system easier to follow along with than watching a video podcast.

Fantastic way to keep fit either at home or on the road, these are incredible practices in just 20 short minutes. I really love that these are 20 minutes long, as it's enough time to get in some relaxation and stretching, but not too much of a commitment. The instructors are very good; even better than those I've some live ones -- they state what your body should be doing and feel like and thus you are able to self-correct your postures. The posture guides are VERY helpful. I would like all of them to have backgrouond music,as the music is quite soothing. My only complaint is that there could be more begnner level (1 and 2) podcasts, as the poses, while not difficult, do require practice to execute smoothly.

My daughter suggested this sight and has shown me how to do some of the poses. I have been able to use the instructors and the guides to learn the rest. As someone who has always played contact sports and scoffed at things like yoga, this podcast has opened a new avenue for me. It has given me cross training, focus and flexibility like I never expected. There is also a great sense of peace and relaxation. This is a great site and I highly recommend it.

These ~20 minute workouts are challenging but well worth it. Each of the sessions I have listened to has been well produced, logically organized and easy to follow (though the poses are often difficult for me to do, understanding the instructor has never been the problem!) The associated pose guides make it clear which pose to do next and helps transition between poses. All in all an excellent quality yoga practice podcast. I applaud you for using the medium to provide a great service!

Great stuff!

Really outstanding quality classes here. GREAT to use for solo practice. And their longer classes (available for a reasonable fee at their website) are even better. The pose-guides really kick it up a notch from any of the competition. Bravo.

A great tool for body and mind

I love, love, love this podcast. I have used many DVD's for yoga and now that I am familiar with poses I much prefer listening to the yoga. These instructors are very good with describing the poses and if you need it, there is a pose guide for each download. This is a gift!

I love the length of these workouts. The pose guides are great too! I would recommend these yoga workouts for anyone who likes to do yoga, but doesn't have the time to do an hour long session. The 20 minutes is perfect!

This podcast is awesome. They've been adding great, new 20 minute podcasts every week. I tell all my yoga friends. These yoga podcasts are so helpful. The yoga instructor talks you through everything. I love the detox. I've bought several of their longer yoga sessions. This is the best podcast for yoga!

Great pose guides, great musice, great teachers. I love this podcast. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes the teachers go a little fast, but you can figure it out easily.

Thanks for the poses guides!

I'm so happy they are back! I love these classes, the pace is perfect, the music is great and it feels like there is a teacher right there in the room with you. Now with the addition of the pose guides, these classes are even more amazing. I'm so happy they have been adding more new classes! Please keep them coming!
